Chapter 32: She is Our Mate

Jace’s POV

That day, I had gone to the club house in moonclaw pack to meet with an important figure when I overheard a conversation between Lana and Alpha Gregory.

I didn’t want to listen to their conversations at first, but the mention of Aria’s name made me so interested.

I was taken aback hearing them talked about staging an accident for Aria the next day.

I knew Lana hated Aria, but I didn’t know the hatred was that strong that Lana would want to kill her.

Her reason for wanting to get rid of Aria was nothing but to ascend the Alpha position. I had no idea she was that dumb until that day. Even if Aria died, none of the brothers would hand over the position to her. She isn’t their biological sister, Aria is.

“Alpha Jace?”

I lifted my hand, stopping the bodyguard from approaching me.

Lana and Gregory had already turned around when they heard the name, fortunately, they didn’t see me as the club light was dark blue.

“Did you hear that name?”

Lana asked, still staring around.

“Another Alpha is here?”

Gregory scoffed.

“How dare he step foot into my territory? No Alpha from another pack is allowed here when I am present.”

The Moonclaw pack must be so ashamed to have an Alpha like Gregory whose only duty in the pack was to visit all the club houses to waste time.

“Including me?”

Lana asked with a scoff.

“You aren’t an Alpha yet, Lana. Get your head straight.”

That statement provoked Lana. She shot to her feet, grabbed her handbag from the table and stormed out.

I watched in amusement as Alpha Gregory followed her like she was his mate. Staring at them was so disgusting that I couldn’t help but puffed.

That was the day I knew that Lana was still hiding in moonclaw pack and hadn’t returned home.

I didn’t hear the rest of their plans, but saving Aria was the first thing that came to my mind.

I might have rejected her during our first meet, but that was the only way I could save her and take Gregory’s eyes away from me.

If I did acknowledged her that day, Gregory would have demanded to know where I came from, who I was and what I was doing in his pack.

My mission there was different so, I rejected her on the spot and left. I’d planned to return to take her away, but she disappeared and appeared as an Alpha heiress in Bloodmoon pack.

Without wasting much time, I left the clubhouse to the apartment I was staying in Moonclaw pack.

“I will pay a visit to Bloodmoon pack and as usual, I will be going alone.”

“But Alpha Jace…”

The bodyguard argued.

“The supreme Alpha won’t be happy if he find out that you are still after Aria.”

Yes, the supreme Alpha, the leader of all the packs in the kingdom is my father. And since he found out I was obsessed with Aria, he has been keeping a close eye on me.

He monitored my movements, businesses, and anything that leads me to the Bloodmoon pack. To him, I will become useless if I acknowledge a mate who is an Alpha from another pack.

He said as the next supreme Alpha, I must only take a mate from our pack, and that is the daughter of his beta.

“He must never find out.”

“But…”

“Are are working for me or my father?”

He shuddered, noticing the change in my expression.

“I…I am so sorry, Alpha Jace…I work for you.”

“Good. Then stay out of my business! And if I hear a word about this from my father, consider yourself headless!”

Then I left, and in no time, I arrived at the Bloodmoon pack. I couldn’t see Aria that day as it was so late, and the next day, I found her location.

When I got there, Lana was coming out of the spa pallor. She looked around while bringing out a phone from her bag, then she placed it on her ear and spoke for a while.

A mischievous grin appeared on her face after she was done with the call giving me the full assurance that Lana was up to no good.

I watched as two Mercedes Benz parked in front of her. Four people stepped out from each of the cars, spoke with her for a while, then pulled a gun and fired it on the sky.

Lana screamed, so did everyone present on the street. They started running helter skelter, then another gun shot followed. This time, they targeted the innocent people running away.

My mind raced after seeing the gun as I knew Aria was in there. Lana had called them to attack, fortunately, Kael jumped down through the window.

A fight broke out between Kael, his bodyguards and the thugs Lana had invited. Seeing how things was turning out, Lana signaled one of the thugs who in turn shot her on the arm.

As soon as Kael left with Lana, they overpowered the bodyguards, trying to break inside the spa pallor where Aria was.

That was the time i jumped out of the car, letting out my wolf by mistake. I took them all down, and by the time I realized I was standing in my wolf form, Aria was already outside, crying out loud.

When our eyes locked, I saw her eyes sparkled, accompanied by her peaceful aura that makes me feel calm. The feeling I once had the first time we crossed paths returned.

I was taken away by our mate bond that I didn’t know she was referring to me when she shouted Kael’s name, and before I knew it, I was shot in the leg.

Aria was dragged inside the spa pallor, and I used that opportunity to jump inside the car in my true form and sped off.

That day, I thought I was going to lose my life because of the intensity of the pain. I almost had a terrible thought that my wolf was dead when I didn’t hear its voice, but two hours later, it spoke, blaming me.

‘You try to kill me because of her?’

He howled aggressively.

“She is our mate and I must do everything to save her!”
