Chapter 34: Who is the Alpha Leader?

Aria’s POV

“Lana saved your life.”

“Lana didn’t save my life. She staged the whole thing and played the Good Samaritan just so you would take her back.”

Jace told me when we met. He told me all the things he heard Lana and Gregory said in the club house and also told me how Lana signaled the thug to shoot her.

Were they so dumb to see through her trick?

“My decision is final!”

Kael commanded. But no, not on my watch.

“Who is responsible to give orders here? You or I?”

Kael stopped walking.

“Didn’t you told me that I am the Alpha leader and whatever I say stands?”

“Aria?”

Elias whispered.

“I am waiting for your answer, Kael.”

He turned around, his hands inside his pockets. Kael looked so surprised with the way I was talking to him.

“I did say that, but not in all circumstances.”

“What circumstances?”

“This type. Lana must go home!”

“Says who? You? You aren’t the Alpha anymore, I am and whatever I say stands!”

I snapped, glaring at him. Even I didn’t know where that confident came from, but I was enjoying it.

“Aria, that’s enough.”

Elias grabbed my wrist. He sounded so scared of the whole situation. Everyone knew that Provoking Kael was a terrible thing and the biggest mistake anyone would ever make.

As I was told, Kael’s anger was one of the things no one want to witness. They said when he get angry, the sky turn dark, and that day, no one in the pack sleeps peacefully.

Well, I had always been careful after hearing that, but not that day. I was ready to see what it look like when he get angry.

“Leave me alone!”

I flung my hand from his, facing Kael.

“If anyone dares bring Lana back to the mansion, hell will let lose!”

I screamed at him and stormed out of the room.

‘What have you done?’

Liza trembled however, I shoved her to the back of my mind. I was too angry to allow her cowardness get into my head.

“What happened at the hospital?”

I wasn’t surprised when Damien and Rafe asked me the moment I stepped inside the mansion. Elias must have informed them because Kael would never do that.

“You already heard so, leave me alone!”

They were taken aback but they didn’t stop following me into my room. I tossed my handbag angrily on the bed, kicked off my heels, and sat with a thud on the stool.

“You shouldn’t have spoken to Kael that way,”

They looked so scared,

“None of us has ever spoken to Kael that way before, Area. I know you are our last born who is pampered with love by her brothers, but that shouldn’t have given you the impression to talk to him that way. He is our oldest brother,”

I might have gone a little far, but that was the only way to stop him from bringing Lana back into the mansion.

“You should apologize to him when he returns.”

“Excuse me?”

I scoffed, getting up from the stool.

“I won’t apologize to Kael, he should apologize to me for making me look like a nobody in front of Lana.”

“But he can’t do that.”

“Of course he did. Why would he give an order that only I could give?”

“Kael was the Alpha before you, he knows a lot of things which you don’t. Why don’t you just calm down and learn from him?”

“By bringing my enemy back into where I live? That’s impossible! Dudes, please leave my room if you have nothing important to say.”

To my surprise, they got up and headed towards the door. As they left the room, I heard Rafe telling Damien that he should talk to me since I listen to him.

But at that moment, none of them were worth my attention if what they’ll say had to do with Lana.

How could Kael even decided to make a final decision in regards to Lana?

‘Why don’t you just…’

“Aria!”

Liza was interrupted by Nina who had just badges inside the room, panting. She was sweating as if she has just concluded a marathon to the mansion.

“You can’t believe what I heard.”

She threw herself on the bed, patting her chest, still breathing so hard.

“Everyone in the pack is talking about it.”

“Cut to the chase!”

She bobbed her head, paused for a bit and exhaled deeply before talking.

“They said the attack in front of the spa pallor wasn’t directed at you,”

Was that even possible? If the attack wasn’t for me, then who was it for? I was the only Alpha leader present there. And Jace wouldn’t have told me a lie that Lana staged the whole thing. Besides, she can do that.

“What do you mean?”

“Since Lana left the mansion, onlookers said she has been getting into one trouble and another. They said she got duped the moment she stepped out of the pack, brutally harassed, and worse…”

She stopped, her eyes so wide in terror.

“She was shot in front of the spa pallor by the same people. Rumors have it that Lana knows something about them—a secret. That is why they want her dead.”

Lana, putting herself in danger because she knows a secret? That was the biggest lie I would never believe in my entire life.

Even if she knows a secret about a particular people or pack, Lana would never be targeted that way. For someone with deep connections, none of the thugs would cross her paths.

She won’t have to take them down by herself, she will leave them to her minions in the packs. Whoever believe that lie must be an idiot. Perhaps they’d already forgotten who Lana is and the things she is capable of doing.

“So now that you brought me the fake news, you think I will believe it?”

I smirked, hanging my bag on the hanger.

“It isn’t a lie, Aria. Everyone is talking about it.”

“So it is true since everyone is talking about it?”

“Not how you see it, but…”

“I am done talking about this. Can you leave, please? I need some rest. We will catch up later.”

Nina left angrily, but I cared not. If they’ll keep coming to me with talks about Lana, they’ll keep getting the same treatment from me.

A few minutes later, hunger striked and while I was heading to the kitchen, I heard familiar voices outside the entrance door. I didn’t hesitate to go check out who that was because it sounded so familiar that my curiosity won’t let me let it slide.

Opening the door, my eyes fell on Lana standing in front of the Mercedes, exchanging greetings with Nina. Her face was all smiles, and the moment she noticed me, a mischievous grin appeared on her lips.
