Chapter 35: Her Confidence

Aria’s POV

“Hello, Aria.”

Lana waved two right fingers, grinning mischievously. She was back—Kael went against my words.

Annoyingly, Nina, on the other hand, frowned at me, smiled at Lana, and walked away after saying goodbye.

She looked like a hypocrite, and if I didn’t know who she was, I would have said she was one of Lana’s minions.

I didn’t know she was close to me until she tapped my arm.

“I am back, Aria.”

She chuckled.

“And nothing can send me out of this house. If you think you can, do it!”

That was clearly a threat.

“Then I will show you who the boss is here.”

I snapped my fingers on her face, and she cracked up.

“You? A servant who found a family late in life? If you don’t behave well, Aria, these people won’t hesitate to disown you.”

None of them can dare to disown me. They can’t even dethrone me.

“Everyone in this pack already doesn’t like you, so it won’t be hard for them to send you out of here. No…chase you out!”

She placed her right hand on my shoulder.

“This is a little advice for you: run away from here, as far as you can so you wouldn’t have to run when I decide to show you the other side of me.”

Which side of hers have I not seen? Lana is just a fool who thinks she can get whatever she wants by acting recklessly. She will be doomed if any of the brothers, especially Kael find out she staged the whole thing.

Well, I wasn’t ready to wait until the brothers find out, that would be a waste of time. Lana must leave the way she came.

“And oh…”

Her countenance suddenly changed to that of an innocent, gentle girl.

“Thank you so much for letting me back here,”

My jaw dropped at her sudden change of mood. But it wasn’t long until I realized that Kael was standing behind me.

Lana is a faker but not on my watch.

“Are you done making a fool out of yourself?”

Her lips twitched, then she let out a soft sigh.

“I am sorry, Aria. I am now a changed person. Please do not kick me out of here.”

Then fake tears began to fall from her eyes.

“I like you a lot. If you are hating me this much because of our experience, forgive me and let it go.”

That was so disgusting that I couldn’t control my anger anymore. She could just continue with her normal attitude instead of pretending that much. It didn’t suit her at all. She looked so pathetic.

“Where is your luggage?”

Kael asked, still standing behind me.

Lana slowly cleaned the tears on her face, sniffled, then slowly approached Kael, avoiding me as if I was going to hit her.

“They are in the car,”

She crossed her arms with his, stealing a glance at me in fear.

“Get her bags.”

He ordered the bodyguard he had called and turned to go inside. But before he could do so, I blocked their way.

“Lana isn’t going anywhere.”

“We are done talking about this, Aria.”

Kael sounded uninterested.

“No, we are going to start it fresh because it seems nothing I said stayed in your ears. They entered through one ear and moved out like a breeze through the next one.”

I stepped closer, hands on my waist.

“For the last time. Kael, Lana is leaving this mansion! If she doesn’t, you will be blamed for whatever happened to her!”

I signaled to the bodyguard who had brought out Lana’s luggage.

“Return them to the car!”

He glanced at Kael, standing dumbfounded beside Lana, who was still fooling herself that Kael had deep control over me, then quickly returned the luggage and disappeared.

“And you…”

I turned to her.

“I want you out of here before I come down. If I meet you again, you will become history!”

Kael’s fingers clutched my wrist, sending an intense pain into my nerves. Before my eyes could meet his, his movement already explained how aggressive he was towards me for my nonchalant attitude towards him.

However, I gave no damn. I was serious about the fact that Lana must leave the mansion. If they were so dumb as not to see through her lies, I wasn’t, and she must leave.

“Kael?”

Lana, in her pretentious mindset, held his arm, acting as if she was about to cry.

“Aria is right, I should go.”

Her voice was just like poison ivy in my ears. I wished I could strangle her at that moment to at least stop talking.

“She is the Alpha leader, and we shouldn’t defy her orders,”

She sniffled, then covered her mouth for a few seconds.

“I have never wanted to come between you guys and I won’t start it. Leave her alone, I understand that your kindness towards me is a…”

“Shut up and leave already!”

I snapped, cutting her off. If Lana was left to continue speaking, she would give all the speech she had been practicing, and would have wasted my time. Softening my heart with her words was one of the most difficult things ever so it was better to cut her off.

She wiped the tears on her face and started walking towards the car slowly, turning to glance at Kael every second. Her plan was clearly visible, so even a little pup could figure it out. She acted that way so that Kael would pity her more, fight with me, and take her to where her room used to be.

“Kael?”

She suddenly paused and called his name, but he didn’t move a lip. That didn’t stop her from saying what she wanted to say, Lana was an idiot.

“I will come to your company tomorrow and…”

“What is your deal, Lana! Do you want to be disgracefully dragged out?”

Deep down in my mind, I meant the threat. The bodyguards were all over the place, so a single order would make them spring into action.

Astonishingly, Kael said no word, he didn’t even look her way, he held onto my wrist, glaring at me.

Lana sat in the car, fire burning in her eyes. Nothing turned out the way she had expected it and the way she had planned it.

The moment she drove out of the mansion, Kael’s grip loosened around my waist, followed by a sigh that I knew I didn’t mistake for relief.

“Thank goodness!”

His lips curled into a mischievous grin.
