Chapter 40: The Bloodmoon Pack is in Danger

Aria’s POV

That man must have heard or seen something terrible that Lana was up to and decided to report it right there when Lana’s evil plan was publicised. Unfortunately, he got killed even before he could say it.

Dang it!

I was so upset at that point, wishing I could turn back time. But the deed had already been done, and what was left was to carry out a deep investigation of what the man wanted to say.

“I want the investigative team sent to all of Lana’s houses in this pack, her guest houses, and any other place you know she often visited.”

As I was told, Lana had a lot of houses in her name as the almost-mistaken daughter of my father. They said that when he was still alive, he showered her with love and many gifts. She had more houses than any of my brothers: the real children, and a lot of cars.

My father, the late Alpha, must have known that one day his real daughter would return; that’s why he did all that for her, so she wouldn’t feel unwanted when I finally showed up. But even after all the things that were done for her, Lana decided to just wake up one day and be a rebel. What an ingrate.

“Shouldn’t the houses be seized, Alpha Aria?”

Alissa did think well. I should have thought about that long ago but I was too occupied with different thoughts to have had that important one. Seizing the houses and everything she owned was the best thing to do. That way, Lana wouldn’t be able to sneak inside the pack without being noticed.

But if the houses were still under her, she could come in at night, sneak inside any of the houses, and continue with her plans without anyone knowing. What a dangerous thing that would be.

“Someone will come later, let her in.”

It was visible on her face that that wasn’t what she wanted to hear, but got no audacity to question me. Alissa bowed her head and strolled out of the office. As soon as she was gone, I put a call across to Kael, borrowing someone from him.

“What do you want Bianca to do for you?”

Bianca would be a great help in the investigation. Moreover, I had grown so fond of her and wished she were my assistant after our experience in the spa parlor. She was so nice, intelligent, and overall, a brainiac.

If she were my assistant, maybe we wouldn’t have wasted a month doing the same thing. We could have already been done with Lana’s situation.

“There is something important she must do for me. Do you mind sending her over? I mean right now?”

“Okay.”

After a few minutes, Kael did send Bianca, however, I didn’t waste much time answering her greetings, i took her straight to the meeting hall to discuss with her.

“Locating Lana will be the easiest thing, however, we don’t know if she is in the Silverclaw pack, or the Moonclaw pack, or neither of them…”

Great! I totally forgot about that. Both the Moonclaw and the Silverclaw pack belonged to Alpha Gregory and unfortunately, I spent half of my precious years in both. The Silverclaw pack was where their favorite club was, where they would allow the rascals to have their way with the omegas. While the Moonclaw was where I had always come into contact with Lana mostly.

If only I had remembered there were two packs, the spies would have been sent over there too. How did I manage to even forget that? I literally grew up there.

“We should distribute spies across both the packs, and the neighboring packs where you think she would be. But wait…”

She spent a few seconds on her phone, doing what only she knew. But with the way she was so focused, it seemed to be about what we were discussing.

“I have just found one location where Lana will be…”

She paused, then looked up, her eyes glinting in excitement.

“The Redmoon pack.”

The Redmoon pack? Hell no! That was the only dangerous pack in the whole kingdom. The people there were rogues, very dangerous rogues. They were merciless, cunning, and masters at disguise.

They could take any form they like, enter a pack, and mingle with the pack members as if they were one of them. Infiltrating the Redmoon pack to find Lana was a dangerous thing to even think about.

If someone is not of them, they find out immediately and get rid of them. Not one, but thousands of curious werewolves had gone missing in that pack. There was no way I was sending any of my pack members to their doom because of Lana.

By the way, what was her business with those rogues? Why would she even be there?

“Alpha Aria?”

Bianca tapped my arm slowly, then returned to her seat.

“You looked out of space. Are you alright?”

Of course I wasn’t. Just thinking of the Redmoon pack was causing my adrenaline and cortisol to rise. I’d never seen the Redmoon pack members before, but all the things I heard and read about them were enough to make one’s blood pressure skyrocket.

“What were you saying?”

I changed the topic because Bianca must never have found out I was scared of that pack less I scare her too.

“Lana must be in the Redmoon pack. From the information I have here, the Rogue’s leader’s daughter went to the same school as Lana. Not only that, rumors have it that Lana and Cassey, the Rogue’s leader’s daughter are in a business with Lana.

How long did I even know Lana? I thought I knew everything about her but I didn’t. So she was more capable than I imagined.

“Wait a second…”

I stopped her.

“If Lana is friends with Cassey and is living with them now, then our attention shouldn’t be on Alpha Gregory alone. Perhaps he is just a distraction Lana has created for us, but the real people she is working with are the Redmoon pack.”

My eyes snapped wide, and my heart stopped beating for a second after the revelation.

“My goodness!”

Bianca sprang to her feet, her eyes rolling in terror.

The Bloodmoon pack is in trouble, Lana has put my pack members in great danger.
