Chapter 41: The Only Person Who Can Help

Aria’s POV

“I must inform Kael right away!”

Bianca and I hurried out of the meeting hall like we were being chased by rogues. Everyone’s attention was on us as we left the company’s building and whispers were flying around. But I paid no attention to them, I was focused on where I was going.

Even though I tried to stay calm and control myself, I couldn’t. The gravity of my fear hormones was stronger than I had thought. Never in my life had I ever been that scared in my life. Maybe if the evil plan was for me alone, I wouldn’t have been that scared, but my pack members–thousands of innocent people.

Join the silverclaw and the moonclaw pack’s members together and they weren’t a quarter of all of the Bloodmoon’s pack members.

Luckily, Kael was still in his company when I reached there–he was about to leave. When he saw me, he grew so concerned and only when he hugged me tightly did I regain a little courage.

“Whatever is bothering you, I am sure it isn’t something small. Do you want me to summon Damien, Elias, and Rafe?”

He thought well, but it would just be a waste of time before they got there.

“We can talk about this to them later, right now, it is urgent.”

We went back to his office, together with Bianca.

“Bianca found where Lana could be.”

He glanced at her, then returned his gaze to me.

“The Redmoon pack.”

Something flashed in his eyes but quickly vanished. Could it be a surprise to what I had said? Shock? Or fear? Kael would never be scared, would he?

“She found out that Lana and the Rogue leader’s daughter are friends and are in a business together. I am thinking…”

He held my hand, rubbing the back to calm me down. Nothing worked, my fear was consuming me like wildfire.

“Alpha Gregory might just be a distraction,”

Kael said, taking me by surprise. Could he have heard me say that to Bianca? Well, I brushed it aside as that wasn’t the time for it.

“And if all our attention had shifted to Alpha Gregory, they attack.”

He added, finally completing the puzzle on my mind.

“What do you think we should do, Mr. Black?”

Bianca asked, but he paid no attention to her. Apparently, he wanted me to do the asking.

“What is your suggestion, Kael?”

He jabbed his forehead for a few seconds, then looked at me.

“We will attack before they do.”

“What!”

Bianca and I exclaimed in shock. Was Kael out of his mind? Attack the Redmoon pack?

“You are kidding, right?”

I asked after laughing to my satisfaction. But his expression was stern, showing he was serious about it.

“That is the best thing to do. If we don’t attack, they will.”

He turned to Bianca.

“Return to your desk.”

She bowed, then scurried out.

Kael got up, locked the office door, and returned to me. He squatted in front of me, held my hands, and chuckled softly.

“Didn’t I tell you that an Alpha leader should never be scared?”

“Are you kidding me? This is beyond control, Kael. You didn’t inform me that this position comes with a lot of challenges.”

“I know, but you should already know. Also, you must never let your fear consume you, do not allow anyone to know you are scared of anything. If you do, they will find your weakness and the next thing the enemies would do is use your weakness against you.”

That was correct, but how did he expect me to control what has to do with the Redmoon pack?

“Listen attentively, Aria.”

He got up, sliding his hands inside his trousers’ pockets. That was his usual way of letting anyone know how serious what he was about to say was.

“From now on, you should never involve anyone who isn’t your brothers in the pack’s affairs. Things like this should be discussed among us not with any of the pack members.”

He was definitely referring to Bianca. Meanwhile, I saw nothing wrong in talking to her about it. She was smart and it was because of her that I figured out Lana’s real intention.

“I also found out that you’ve shunned your friend, Nina out of your life because you saw her talking and smiling with Lana…”

That surprised me. How did he find out so easily? Well, he was Kael, nothing in the pack happened without him knowing.

“You did a great job. Remember this: do not trust anyone who isn’t your brothers, do not make any pack’s decision with them, do not tell them your secret or the pack’s secret, nobody must know your weakness, strength, and plans.”

The last part reminded me of what happened a few months ago regarding the organization. It could be either Nina or Alissa who told Lana about it, so I needed to be more careful just as Kael had said.

“You won’t know if the person you are trusting with your affairs is a spy…”

“Are you saying Bianca is a spy?”

“We never can tell.”

He sat down, picked up his phone, and tapped the screen for a while before putting it down.

“There is only one person who can dare enter the Redmoon pack without being questioned, or killed.”

There was someone like that? Who could they be? Perhaps he might be someone related to them.

“That person will be willing to do anything for you, Aria. Sending him there will be the best decision you could ever make. He will never turn you down.”

That was so confusing. There was someone like that? Who could it be? Maybe he was an Alpha. I heard Alphas helped each other when a pack is in danger.

“Tomorrow, we will visit him and inform him of what is happening. When we get there, do not let him know you are scared, just show him you need his assistance, not help. Anyways, you will do all the talking with him, i will only escort you there.”

That was weird. That person must be so important. But who could he be? An Alpha or what?
