Chapter 45: The Supreme Alpha’s Puppet

Jace’s POV

“Aria?”

She glared at me, panting heavily. If Aria had been able to let out her wolf, then things would have turned sour that day. Her anger was at a peak that an Alpha couldn’t control their emotions. Her fate of not being able to wolf out clearly saved the day.

“Let’s go home.”

Kael said and she bobbed her head. But she can’t leave that way, not urgently.

“Can Aria stay behind and…”

“And do what?”

Both she and Kael thundered.

“I will talk to my uncle, he will…”

“Forget it, Jace.”

She hissed.

“I am no longer interested in his help. I can do this by myself. He thinks I am a weakling? I will show him how capable I am without him!”

She meant it, she was serious about it. However, dealing with the Redmoon pack alone was dangerous; only the Supreme Alpha could stop them.

“Trust me…”

“I am done trusting people!”

She looked at her brother.

“Let’s go, Kael, we can do this without any help.”

They stormed out of the mansion, slamming the door so hard that it shook the building.

I got so upset that my uncle could do that to Aria—the woman I had been trying to win back. How could he?

“Stay away from that girl, Jace, she is a dangerous being.”

That statement took me aback especially when it came directly from my uncle. I had only gone to confront him, to know the reason why he treated Aria that way, but was hit with those words which sounded more like a warning.

“Why should I, uncle? The Bloodmoon pack needs help. We can’t turn a blind eye on them, they are a part of us. What do you think the royal majesty will do when he finds out you refused to help a certain pack?”

“I don’t care about that!”

He appeared very uncomfortable with the discussion and was doing all he could to end it.

“Do not bring that lady back to this city. And whatever you are doing with her, stop it!”

He left me pondering what could have transpired between him and the bloodmoon pack that he wasn’t willing to help them. Even though I tried so hard to think about it, I couldn’t fathom anything.

“Jace?”

Selene’s annoying voice thundered in the mansion, followed by her heavy footsteps, thudding down the stairs.

“How could you bring another woman into this house and claim she is your mate? What about me? Am I no longer your fiancée?”

I ignored her, picked up my phone, and left the mansion.

Knowing why my uncle was refusing to help Aria’s pack was what was troubling me and no matter what that was, I was more than willing to get to the root of the problem.

“Are you really going to the Redmoon pack?”

My assistant, the middle-aged man asked, hurrying behind me to the parking lot.

“Going there today wouldn’t be your first time, i have even lost count of the number of times you’ve been there. But don’t you think your father wouldn’t…”

I paused in my tracks, turning to face him.

“And who is going to tell him? You?”

I was one hundred percent sure that he would go there, so instead of ruining my plan even before putting it in action, I seized his phone.

“I am going with you. Let’s see how the words get to him.”

He bowed, then continued hurrying after me. We got into the car and I let him drive because when it came to urgency, he was a professional at driving.

Arriving at the Redmoon pack didn’t take much time as it was just an hour’s drive from the city. Luckily, their leader was around, and surprisingly, the mansion’s parking lot was occupied with lots of cars that there wasn’t any space for us to park.

“I will talk to the…”

“Forget it, let’s go in.”

I didn’t wait for him to get the door for me before stepping out and I hadn’t gone far before we were interrupted.

“Alpha Regan is in a meeting…”

Alpha Rogan. That caused me to scoff. Who gave the Rogue an Alpha title? As far as I knew, their pack wasn’t listed as one to be ruled by an Alpha.

“Point of correction, it is Regan. And if you don’t stay out of my way now, I will dismember you!”

He didn’t bow, he stepped away. Those lunatics never bowed to anyone, not even to the Supreme Alpha.

Interestingly, Regan was indeed in a meeting with a lot of people, not the Rogues, but people from other packs. No wonder the parking lot was filled with cars.

“And who is this?”

Someone from the crowd asked, his brows creasing into a frown.

“He can’t just barge in like this, Alpha Regan,”

“Didn’t you say this is all of us?”

“Someone should send him out of here.”

It was obvious that they had no idea with whom they were talking to and Regan who knew just sat on a throne, grinning as if he was enjoying the whole thing.

“Alpha Regan?”

I cracked up, taking them by surprise.

“When did the Supreme Alpha agree to give you the title? When did Rogues become one of us?”

“Watch your mouth, pipsqueak!”

I veered in the direction where the voice came from and my eyes landed on the Alpha I knew from another pack.

“I see you are one of Regan’s minions.”

I clicked my tongue, shaking my head in disappointment.

“Alphas, seeking help and working for a Rogue? Pathetic.”

“What do you want, Jace?”

Regan finally spoke, knowing where I was heading. He knew me, he knew how I talk. If he hadn’t interrupted me, he knew I could turn those idiots against him.

“Who is he?”

Someone asked, and others agreed with him.

“He is a nobody, just ignore him.”

“He isn’t a nobody, but you can ignore him.”

Regan corrected.

“I came here to warn you about a particular pack you are about to attack.”

“What pack?”

He asked, getting interested in the conversation.

“Bloodmoon pack.”

Whispers broke out.

“If you dare hurt even a fly from that pack, I will turn this place upside down and the Rogues will be eliminated!”

That threat was enough to make him back down however, Regan cracked up, his hoarse, horrible voice echoing.

“Who are you to warn me? You aren’t even the Supreme Alpha…”

He got up, approaching me.

“You are only the Supreme Alpha’s puppet. Don’t you know? The man you call father is only using you to get what he wants…”

“Don’t you dare!”

“He is planning to make his son, Alex, the next Supreme Alpha, not you, Jace!”
