Aria’s POV

The only thing I could do for Alissa first was send her off in a grand style. I gave her the most treasurable, one-in-a-million funeral that will go down in history. In the werewolf kingdom, the kind of funeral I gifted Alissa is only done for royal families.

She deserved more than that not only because she was my assistant, but because her life was cut short because of me. At her tomb after everyone had disappeared, I promised her that her killers would never go scot free without paying for their crime.

After the funeral, my brothers came to me where I sat on a cement bench in the garden facing the tomb. They all thought I was down because of Alissa’s death, they didn’t know I was already formulating ways to attack the Redmoon pack.

No. I wouldn’t involve any innocent people in the Bloodmoon pack, i was going to bring them down by myself—alone.

“Do not let this weigh you down.”

Damien was the first to speak, and to let them know that I wasn’t bothered by it, my lips curled into a smile.

“It won’t happen.”

I said, smiling.

“Damien is already distributing the investigation team to…”

I didn’t pay much attention to Kael’s words because even though their investigation would be of help, I wouldn’t just sit by to wait for their report.

Elias was quiet throughout the conversation, probably thinking about something important, and when Rafe patted him, he exhaled all the air he was keeping in his lungs.

“What’s the deal?”

Kael asked.

“Something surprising, Kael.”

“Spill it out.”

“I was going to.”

He glanced at me then turned his attention to them.

“I found something in Alissa’s system.”

The same word he said about me months back.

“Surprisingly, it is the same thing I found in Aria’s system. The thing that was stopping her from shifting.”

Interesting.

“You mean silver?”

“Yes. They injected a massive amount of silver into Alissa’s bloodstream, probably to weaken her wolf from healing her from the torture.”

I once heard that Alissa’s wolf was strong because she was the descendant of a healer and anyone who hailed from that family has a strong wolf. So they did inject her with silver to weaken her wolf in order to be able to control her.

“Why would Regan do that?”

“Could he be the one behind Aria’s misfortune too?”

“That smells like it. In this whole kingdom, after the king and his second in command, no other person can ever get their hands on silver except the rogues used an illegal way.”

The king, the supreme Alpha, and the Rogues. It is either the Rogues got it directly from the king, the supreme Alpha, or just as Kael had said: an illegal way.

Then how is it connected to me? What business did a pup have with the king or the supreme Alpha to be injected with silver? Something was fishy and whatever it was, the real truth about my disappearance from birth was coming into light.

How the Supreme Alpha reacted when he saw me was still fresh in my memory like it just happened. And interestingly, Alissa did mention his name. However, the most confusing part was when she said ‘the Supreme Alpha’s’ his what? Or who?

“Are you with us?”

Rafe snapped his fingers in my face.

“I was gone for a while but yes. What did I miss?”

“The path where we will be going to the Redmoon pack to deal with them.”

He said.

But I had a thought. Was going to that pack going to solve the issue? They would deny ever capturing Alissa, I knew what the Rogues were capable of doing. The best thing was to silently attack them until they made it public that they were the culprits.

“That aside.”

Kael waved his hand.

“Did Alissa tell you anything before she passed?”

“Yes. She said that I should run because they are coming after me.”

They scoffed.

“And you are going to run?”

“Where?”

I chuckled softly, standing on my feet.

“Where will I run to? I am the Alpha leader and we aren’t known to be cowards. I will stay here, fight for my people, and make sure Alissa rests in peace.”

They didn’t care that we were still at the funeral home, my brothers being so supportive, got up and clapped for me.

“That’s my baby sis. You are growing into the leader we prepared you for.”

“I know I will never regret entrusting this position to you, Aria. And for your information, these brothers of yours will be your support throughout your journey as the Alpha Leader.”

I trust them so much.

“So who did she say is coming after you?”

“Isn’t it obvious? It’s the Redmoon pack.”

I had to hide it from them that she mentioned the Supreme Alpha. If not, they would involve Jace in it and give me hours of lectures about him.

“We will deal with them.”

They chorused.

That day, the whole pack was dead silent to honor Alissa’s death. I also closed down the schools, the workplaces, and fun places for a week to mourn her. Apparently, all the whole pack members were active on the internet because it was bustling with the discussion of Alissa’s death.

Everyone had one or two things to say about it, and some of them wanted to know what the Alpha leader’s decision was. If I would take vengeance or just forget about it.

I wouldn’t just forget something that important, never.

After freshening up, I picked up my phone and sent a message to one of the powerful Alphas in the pack.

“We need to talk about something important regarding Alissa’s death.”

As if he was waiting for my message, a reply popped up instantly.

“What do you want us to do, Aria?”

As I typed the reply, my heart was racing with anger, and my fingers were trembling because the amount of fire burning in my heart could burn down the entire kingdom.

“Block their source of income.”
