Chapter 58: When the Internet Went Bananas

Aria’s POV

That was it! That was the only thing I wanted to hear. The message elevated my mood instantly and I didn’t waste time calling Alpha Hans.

“I told you they would cooperate.”

And yes they did. What did Jace even say about Hans? That he would turn against me? Who cares?

“Stay tuned today, Aria, the internet will go bananas in a few minutes. I didn’t only email the contract termination document to the Rogues, i also paid a few reporters, influencers, and gossip sites to talk about it.”

Hans was so smart. He knew the Rogues would try to conceal from the world that their biggest investment was canceled.

“Tomorrow, I will come to the Bloodmoon pack with my Alpha friends, then you can discuss with them what you want them to do for you.”

And true to his word, the internet did go bananas that day. I had just stepped out of the bathroom after I returned home and saw my phone’s screen on. When I looked at the notifications, they were all from social media, talking about the Arkonic pack and the Redmoon pack.

The comments didn’t disappoint me. A lot of them were confused about why the Arkonix pack that had been in collaboration with the Redmoon pack for generations would suddenly wake up and decide to stop it.

Others included the Bloodmoon pack in it especially the people from my pack. They said the Arkonix pack had done the right thing by canceling collaboration with the Rogues for killing one of them.

“What is the King and the Supreme Alpha saying about this?”

That comment caught my attention, and it piqued my interest. I didn’t scroll past it, I tapped on the replies and got the shock of my life.

“Rumors have it that the king is in support of the Rogues…”

“Don’t you know that the Rogues are secretly working for them? Isn’t that the reason why they gave the Rogues a pack in this kingdom?”

I was wowed by those comments and many more talking about the Rogues working secretly for the king and the supreme Alpha. That really looked like it, especially with the silver injection situation.

Finally! The Rogues would know that they had messed up with the wrong person. I dropped the phone on the bed, chuckling excitedly, imagining how the next day would turn out.

As soon as I slid on my pajamas and was ready to go to bed, a subtle knock came on the door. I sighed, sat on the bed, and called out to whoever it was to come in and Kael came in.

The moment my eyes darted to the phone in his hand with the screen on, I knew he had come for what was happening on the internet.

“Is this your doing?”

He flashed the screen in my face, approaching where I sat. I nodded, a satisfying smile curled on my lips.

Kael shook his head, sat beside me, and inhaled deeply.

“Have I ever told you that I am proud of you?”

Of course, many times without number, Kael had told me how much he was proud of me. Not only him, but the rest of my brothers had said the same thing.

“Of course, bro. Anyways, am I safe?”

I had to ask because I knew how obsessed they were about protecting me all the time. Maybe he was sweat-talking me to talk me out of dealing with the Rogues.

“You are one hundred percent safe, Aria..”

Well, that wasn’t a big problem. Even if I was in trouble with him over what I had done, that wouldn’t cause me to back down on my decision.

“How did you come up with this brilliant idea? I mean, this is so amazing!”

Haha. I didn’t blame Kael for being that excited. Everyone would–everyone who hates the Rogues.

“It is what Alphas do to protect their pack members.”

“Then tell me.”

“Alpha Hans is a friend.”

“Oh.”

The way his countenance suddenly transformed at the mention of Hans’ name surprised me. That was the same expression Jace gave me the day I told him about Hans.

“What is it?”

He shrugged, adjusting his sitting position.

“Alpha Hans is a supportive person,”

He said.

“But you need to be careful with the things you make him do for you. Hans will come back later to demand you repay him and if you don’t, hell will let loose.”

That was surprising and it made me wonder why Kael and Jace said the same thing. Was Hans that dangerous as they said?

“But don’t worry,”

He got up, smiling.

“You have us…we will protect you if he tries to turn against you in the future.”

I appreciated his concern and support but if their words came into light in the future, then I wouldn’t need their help to deal with Hans; I would do that myself.

“Thanks, big bro.”

He pecked my cheek and left the room.

The next day, the ringtone from my phone woke me up and when I checked, it was a call from Hans.

“Sorry to bother you, Aria, but my Alpha friends want to know when they should come into the pack and if you would be comfortable welcoming them there.”

Why wouldn’t I be comfortable? I didn’t even care that the high-ups would find out that Alphas were paying me visits.

“No problem at all. You guys can come in whenever you are ready. I will be in the company in an hour.”

“Alright, see you then.”

After he ended the call, I got up, got ready, and left the house. Two hours later, Hans and his Alpha friends arrived. I had them taken to the meeting hall while I was attending to a client who had come to buy a huge product from the company.

The instant I was done with him, I went into the meeting hall to be greeted by seven powerful Alphas in the kingdom. By just seeing them, one would instantly know that they weren’t just ordinary Alphas, they were ones to pull down whoever they wanted to.

“We have heard your request, Aria, and we have a little question.”

One of the Alphas said, exchanging glances with the rest.

“Go on.”

“What will you give us in return if we pull down the Redmoon pack for you?”

“Aren’t we supposed to help each other as Alphas? Must I give something in return?”

“Uhm… Aria? Nothing is free, you know.”

Hans said, shrugging his shoulders. So Jace and Kael weren’t wrong after all, they knew Hans more than I did.
