Return of the Alpha Heiress
Chapter 59: What the Alphas Want in Return
Chapter 60
Aria’s POV
But what surprised me was that he never mentioned something like that when it was just the two of us. He said he was doing it because the Rogues had gone too far.
“So helping each other to deal with the bad ones now requires a payback?”
I couldn’t help but ask since I wasn’t scared of any of them.
“Hans? Didn’t you say that you have been waiting for the right opportunity to deal with the Rogues?”
He nodded his head, his face blank. Hans looked so serious; he didn’t have that smiley expression he usually wore.
“I admit to that but that doesn’t mean everything is free.”
Wow! Just wow! Anyways, I didn’t let that weigh me down. I had already made up my mind to work with them and I must do that.
“Okay, I heard you and I agree to it. But first…”
My eyes darted from one person to the other.
“You guys will have to do the necessary thing first.”
“That’s not a problem.”
Hans finally smiled, causing me to scoff. So he wasn’t a good person after all, well, I would deal with them.
“If you don’t keep your promise, Aria, there will be a huge problem between us.”
I shot to my feet, hitting the table so hard that they were taken aback.
“Are you threatening me?”
I glared at Hans, teething in anger.
“Did you bring your friends to threaten me? If you guys aren’t willing to help, then you can leave!”
Since they were the desperate types, I knew they would never withdraw from it.
“That’s not it, Aria, do not misunderstand.”
They defended, changing the words in an instant.
They thought that because they were Alpha Males, they would get whatever they wanted with me? Joke on them.
“Relax so we can finalize our discussion. If you think you can give us whatever we want, then we will cancel the collaboration between us and the Rogues right away.”
“You can proceed.”
They wanted me to relax so I did. I rested my back backward on the chair, folded my arms and watched them bring their phone out. One after the other, they started putting calls through to their assistants while some of them just typed the message and sent it to them.
After about twenty minutes of calls, and texts, they looked up, turning their attention to me.
“Check the internet, Aria.”
And when I did, not only were the people in the whole kingdom talking about the Rogues being eliminated from the investment by seven Alphas, but a lot of them were still confused over what was happening.
This time, the Rogues were showing up one after the other on the internet, crying out for help. That really did soothe my mind. I thought they would keep hiding behind the curtains and not come out.
“By next week, the Rogues will be crying out for mercy.”
Hans said and the rest burst into laughter.
“Do you know how many investments they have in my pack?”
They started bragging to each other—everyone in the kingdom knows that about some Alphas. When they are with each other, they do nothing other than brag about their success and other things.
“Three, I know. Mine is four.”
The Alpha, whose pack was known for producing crude oil said. The rest chipped in causing me to lose interest. And while they were busy, bragging, I was engrossed in my phone, reading all the comments on the internet, and the posts the Rogues were making.
“So let’s discuss it now, Aria.”
They drew my attention back to them. I placed my phone on the desk, staring at them.
“As we said before, nothing is done for free.”
“I am listening.”
I said, cutting him short to cut to the chase because I wasn’t going to waste more time listening to them repeat what we had already talked about before.
“We would like to partner with this pack.”
My jaw dropped after he mentioned that. So that was it? That was the payback they were all talking about? What did they threaten me for? Goodness! Those Alphas were clowns.
“And you threatened me just because you want to partner in my business?”
That was the most disrespectful thing ever, how dare they?
“I even thought you guys wanted something different which prompted you to threaten me but this?”
“You promised, Aria…”
“Oh, yes! I did! But I didn’t know it was this. If you guys are so desperate to have an investment in this pack, all you could do is come to me and ask if there is anywhere available for you to invest in not to use this opportunity.”
If they were confident before that I wouldn’t say no to them after they helped me, then the confidence vanished into thin air and the next minute, they had their heads lowered in shame.
“You clearly know that I can refuse this, right?”
“We are sorry, Aria. We thought coming to you to request it wouldn’t turn out well. Alpha Hans had to continue pleading with you to at least give him even a half investment for months before you finally agreed that was why we thought doing it this way could…”
“That’s enough.”
I waved, cutting him short.
I did that not only to Hans but to a lot of people coming to invest in my pack’s business because I wouldn’t just hand the slots out like candy, turning my pack into where anyone could make profits.
The fact that we were the number one pack in business and wealth didn’t mean I was a fool to let anyone come in the name of a business. That was the mistake the other packs made and ended up doing business with the Rogues.
“If it is about partnering with my pack, I will think about it. But if there is anything else you want, then spit it out.”
They didn’t utter a word, they kept on exchanging glances as if telepathing with each other.
“Speak! I have no time to waste here.”
Hans sighed, got up on his feet, and started speaking.
“First of all, we are sorry for causing this uproar, Aria. I went through hell before you finally agreed to give me a slot; that’s why I thought they wouldn’t have to struggle like me if they agreed to help you deal with the Rogues.”
Hans was right and I didn’t blame him for that. But he shouldn’t have done that, that really pissed me off truthfully.
“I understand.”
I calmed down.
“But don’t you think dealing with the Rogues won’t only benefit me but all of us?”
