Chapter 65: The Suspicion

Aria’s POV

Kyra didn’t even look regretful of what she had said nor did she look scared. She stood there in full confidence, glaring at Bianca.

“Why did you say that?”

I asked Kyra after waving to Bianca to go back to her seat.

“Because I have a feeling that she is a bad one and is planning evil for you.”

“Are you out of your mind?”

I snapped at her, shutting her up.

“I didn’t call any of you here to insult one another, I only called you here because you are my new assistant, Kyra.”

I wasn’t taking sides but that was too far. If Bianca were a bad person, Kael wouldn’t have employed her as his personal assistant.

“I apologize, Alpha Aria, but…”

“You can go. I think Bianca and I will round this up alone.”

I sent her out and turned to Bianca who was still angry.

“Ignore her.”

She nodded, inhaling and exhaling deeply.

“She doesn’t know what she is saying, Alpha Aria, please do not involve her in this again.”

Bianca wasn’t in a position to tell me who to involve in my business or what to do. I could decide to call Kyra back into the office but I chose to leave her out there.

“This building…”

I changed the topic.

“It will be executed where we’ve chosen as the location.”

She nodded, staring at the sketch as if that was the first time she was seeing it.

After we were done, I told Bianca to go back to her duty and to wait for my next call.

“Thanks for your help.”

“You are always welcome, Alpha Aria. If you need any other things taken care of, contact me and I will be more than willing to help.”

A few minutes after she was out of the office, a ringtone broke out and that was when I realized she had forgotten her phone on the desk.

I decided to ignore it because peering into her phone to see the caller was a violation of her right. But I couldn’t hold it in anymore when the phone kept ringing, disrupting my peace.

The moment my eyes landed on the name on the screen, suspicion arose.

‘Isn’t that Nina we are seeing?’

Liza asked.

“Yes. But could it be the Nina we know?”

I wasn’t so sure because there were a lot of people named Nina in the pack.

‘Answer it.’

Liza pressured.

“Duee, relax. The phone doesn’t belong to us. We can’t just answer it because it was left here.”

However, Liza’s pressure grew so intense that I was forced to pick up the phone. Unfortunately, it stopped ringing the moment I held the phone in my hand and just when I was about to place it back on the desk, it rang again.

This time, I didn’t hesitate to answer it.

“What is wrong with you?!”

She snapped from the other end.

“Why would you take so long to answer my call? Is that what I am paying you to do?”

That definitely was Nina. There was no way I could ever forget her voice. And Bianca was working for her? How? Where did they know each other? And what business transaction are they running?

“You know what? If you don’t want to do it anymore just tell me!”

I didn’t say a word because if I did, Nina would automatically detect that it wasn’t Bianca but me.

“That aside,”

She continued.

“I will send you the balance and also the address of where to meet me. Make sure you show up, dumb!”

She disconnected the call and shockingly, transferred two million dollars into Bianca’s account and after a few seconds, an address popped up on the notification.

Without clicking the message, I copied the address into a book, snapped the transaction into my phone, and placed Bianca’s phone back on the desk where it was once on.

Whatever it was that Bianca and Nina were doing together, I was prepared to find it out. Who knows? It might be something about me.

Nina was sent away by me and our friendship was cut short. It made me think whether she was using Bianca to get back at me.

And it also made me wonder if what Kyra had said about Bianca earlier on was true.

‘We’ve got to ask Kael about Bianca.’

That was a good idea. But wouldn’t Kael suspect something?

Nevertheless, I decided to ask Kael about her. Maybe he would know something I didn’t.

“Thank goodness!”

Bianca barged inside the office, startling me and jolting me out of my thoughts. She was breathing so hard and her left palm was placed on her chest.

“I thought I’d lost my phone.”

She grabbed it and as she stared at the screen, she kept glancing at me.

“Oh, it was here? I didn’t even know.”

I chuckled, returning to my chair.

“Oh, okay. See you later, Alpha Aria.”

As Bianca left the office again, she was in a hurry and she was typing a message, possibly a reply to Nina’s message.

Curious to see her reaction, I stepped to the window to watch her in the parking lot. And she was standing there, phone placed on her ear. Then she looked up directly at my office looking so confused.

She must have called Nina and Nina would have told her that the phone was answered. And Bianca wouldn’t suspect anyone but me because she left the phone in my office.

Luckily, she didn’t see me standing there as the windows were tinted, only I could see her.

After leaving the company that day, Karl was already back home, so I headed to his room.

“Bianca?”

He asked surprised.

“Yes.”

“Why are you so interested in her? Did she perhaps take something away from you?”

“Oh, not at all. You know I have been involving her in something important so I just want to make a quick background check on her to see if I can trust her with other tasks.”

“Well…”

He finished wiping his wet hair and dropped the towel on the bed.

“You can’t trust her.”
