Return of the Alpha Heiress
Chapter 68: Dealing with the Maniac
Chapter 69
Aria’s POV
“What brings you here, Alex?”
I asked with a smirk, waving at Bianca and the secretary to leave. The way both of them were so focused on Alex showed that they just wanted to hear whatever he would say so that they would say it around.
“For you to warn your stupid mate!”
Whoa! I wasn’t expecting that. By the way, if he and Jace were having a misunderstanding, they could sort it out without involving me.
“And who says he is my mate?”
“He clearly mentioned that you are his woman the day you visited the city, Aria. That aside, tell him to stay away from me and my family. The fact that he is now the supreme Alpha doesn’t mean he can walk over us!”
It was so surprising that Alex would leave the city which was almost four hours away, to come to the Bloodmoon pack just to tell me to warn his cousin? Amazing.
“What did Jace do to you and your family?”
I was so curious to find out whether it was something different from what people were saying on the internet.
“Last night, he sent his minions to the mansion to get my father and us out of there.”
“Oh, that is so bad. Why?”
Well, it wasn’t any of my business but acting like that would make Alex think I was backing him and he would puke out everything for me to hear.
“Because we mentioned on the news that my dear sister, Selene died because of him.”
“Uhn? But she did die when she was with him. And everyone is talking about how Selene saved his life.”
“Exactly, Aria. You are so smart.”
One would think that it wasn’t Alex who picked a fight with me at the Supreme Alpha’s mansion. Who would have forgotten that he insulted me and looked down on me? And now he was in front of me, praising me for being so smart.
My mind still wasn’t at rest with the fact that he was there. What if he came to turn me against Jace so that he would use the opportunity to attack me if I cut Jace off my life?
“But you guys staged the incident, didn’t you? I mean your father and mother.”
Alex’s brows creased into a frown.
“And you believe that?”
“Of course I do. If the majority of people are talking about it then it is the truth. Isn’t it because your father wants you to ascend the throne that belongs to Jace?”
“Are you insulting me right now?”
He snapped, stepping closer to me in anger. However, I didn’t move a step. I stayed where I was, waiting for him to do whatever he could with a smile all over my face.
“Is that a lie?”
“Yes!”
“Then come out to the public and deny that your father plotted to kill his own nephew.”
He bit his lower lip in anger, his lips twitching.
“I didn’t come here to insult you.”
“And I ain’t insulting you, Alex, just stating the fact. Saying Jace was the one who killed your sister when you know fully that it is your fault is pure nonsense. If I were Jace, I wouldn’t just send you out of the mansion, I would jail your entire family and disown you!”
I didn’t get upset because it was Jace’s matter, it just pissed me off that a sinner was trying to defend himself over what he did.
“Even if you succeeded in ascending the supreme Alpha’s position, do you think everyone in this pack will respect you? No they won’t. They will look down on you because you forcefully took the position that isn’t yours. Do you know how many people were talking about your father for not handing over the throne to Jace?”
I sighed, shaking my head.
“Well, I don’t think wasting my time talking to you will solve anything. Just go back and make things right with your cousin before he wipes you guys off the surface of the earth. Oops… I forgot.”
I pinned my fingers on my lips, acting so sarcastic.
“You guys have the king’s backing so you think Jace can do nothing to you. Well, this is a piece of advice for you…Even if the king decides to join your battle, he will never win because Jace is more capable than you think.”
He chuckled,
“So technically, you are saying Jace got your support too?”
“Of course, darling. Do you think I will turn a blind eye to seeing my man being wrongly accused? Absolutely not.”
“Alright then.”
He shrugged his shoulders, stepping back.
“This isn’t over, Aria. You chose to support Jace, right? Just watch as the tables turn.”
I cracked up, staring at him.
“Do your worst, sinner, there is nothing I am afraid of. Whatever you want to do, bring it on!”
He entered his car and zoomed off.
‘That was terrific!’
Liza laughed out loud.
Yes, it was. I was sure Alex would regret going to my pack to report Jace to me. Like the audacity in him. Why would he even think that I would do as he said? Who was he? Because he got the king’s back.
I wasn’t afraid of the king and I was praying hard for a day that I would be able to come face to face with him so that I would see his reaction to the way Jace’s uncle did.
Ever since that encounter with Jace’s uncle, my mind has been moving towards the fact that the king also knew something about my disappearance and the silver injection.
Whatever it was, they must have had a huge beef with my parents to have decided to go after me instead of my brothers. Whatever it was must definitely be connected to the royal family because a normal person in the pack wouldn’t dare to steal the daughter of an Alpha.
By the way, because I was busy exchanging words with Alex, I forgot about the most important thing ahead of me.
To look into everything I had transferred from Bianca’s phone.
As I hurried to my office, the secretary decided to follow me, asking a question that didn’t concern him.
“What did he say, Alpha Aria? Isn’t he the cousin of the supreme Alpha? Did he come to threaten you?”
I paused in my tracks, sighed, and turned back, eyes fixed on him.
“What business do you have with that?”
“N…nothing. I…I just want to tell you something about him that you don’t know.”
