The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 31 (DISAPPOINTED IN YOU)
Chapter 31
Harry returned back to his room, he sat on the bed gasping angrily.
“It’s Mum, she was the one that exchanged the document.” He buried his face on his palms and shook it vigorously. “Oh no,” Ron sighed.
“I never thought Mum could do something as terrible as this. I thought she was only doing that because she thinks Emily would run away with Jeff again. I didn’t know she did that because of me. She thinks I’ll change my mind and marry a nobody.” He exhaled.
“What are you going to do now?” Ron asked him “I don’t know, I’m confused.” He sighed. “I think you should consider bringing her back here.” Ron suggested. “I’ll…” He was interrupted by his Mum who had just opened the door.
“We need to speak, in privacy.” She looked at Ron and he left the room. “There’s nothing you would say to me.” He turned his back on her. “Harry, I’m sorry okay. But I did that for you. I don’t want you to fall in love with her at last, I have no problem with you falling in love but you can never marry a girl from a poor home,” she sighed.
“That’s not an excuse. Emily would think I’m the one behind all this, she won’t think it’s you. She’s already putting the fault on me.” He turned to her. “Mum, I’ll take her out from there. Emily can’t be a servant in my house. After all, she’s still the one that gave birth to Jeff.” He stood up.
“Where are you going?” she asked him. “I’m going to the servant quarters to get her out from there.” He walked to the door and she quickly stopped him. “You can’t go there,” she said with fears written all over her face.
“Why? This is getting to four years now that you stopped me from going to that place. Are you hiding something from me?” She chuckled. “I just don’t want you to mingle with those people. They are not even close to the maids in this apartment. Harry, don’t go there. Leave Emily there that’s where she belongs. If you bring her back, she’ll elope with Jeff and you won’t blame me for that.”
“Emily won’t do that again.” He turned the doorknob. “Don’t you dare step out of here.” Harry was shocked, he turned around slowly to see his Mum do angry.
“Mum.” She moved closer to him. “If you dare step out of this house to go see Emily, you’ll be shocked on what I would do to her,” she threatened. “But why, Mum? Why do you want to turn yourself in to something you are not?” Harry asked her and she chuckled.
“Harry, it’s better you listen to my instructions like you always do. If not, you’ll see the dark side of me.” She walked past him and left the room.
“Mum? When did she turn this way?” Harry sat on the handle of the sofa. He held his head in his palms and gasped. “God!”
“What did Ron say?” Michael asked Emily when they were done eating dinner. “He said the document is with Harry. I think it’s in his room or the study room,” she nodded her head. “So what’s our next plan? I need that document. I have to see what’s in there,” she said to Michael.
“I have an idea. Why don’t you sneak in there and grab the document?” Emily raised her brow and she chuckled softly. “Are you kidding me? What if they caught me?” she scoffed.
“I don’t and but, why don’t you use the back door? The one to the kitchen,” he said. “I think you are right. This sounds great. But how are we going to do it? Madam Gloria has her eyes fixed on us,” she said.
“We’ll do it when everyone has retired to bed.” He suggested. “But what if the door got locked? You know they can’t leave the door open even at night.”
“Enough with the if. Let’s just focus on our plan. We’ll find out if the door's locked or not when we get there.” He gasped.
“Alright then. Can we do it today? I need that document ASAP.” She clicked her tongue. “Okay then, let’s meet there by 10pm. Everyone would have slept off by then.”
Emily and Michael went back to their Dorms waiting for the time to go out.
When it was exactly 10pm, they both sneaked out of the bed and tiptoed out of the Quarters. Emily was the first to arrive there. She peeped through the window and there were no maids in there.
“Yes!” she smiled. She went closer to the door and turned the handle. “Whoa! It’s not locked.” She quietly pushed the door open and nearly scream in excitement.
“Hey.” She was startled. “Oh come on, you startled me,” she whispered to Michael. “Sorry.” He whispered back. “The door isn’t locked, let’s go.”
“You are the only one to go in. I’ll wait here,” Michael said and she rolled her eyes. “I thought you would be coming with me.”
“What if someone caught one of us? I can’t run like you,” he said and Emily giggled. “Good God! Alright then, I’ll go.” She pushed the door quietly and entered.
Unfortunately, the door to the sitting room was locked from inside. Emily turned around looking so Disappointed.
“Locked!” she whispered to Michael. “Oops.” He shook his head. “Come out,” he said and as she was coming out, her eyes caught the transparent fridge.
Emily smiled Mischievously, she ignored Michael who was telling her not to go there and went to the fridge. She opened the door and nearly scream out.
