The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 73 (ALMOST)
Chapter 73
“If you don’t want me to inform Grandma, then allow me to tell Harry,” Emily said. “I don’t want you to tell any of them. Just get me out of here.” They all tried to make her understand and to agree to their suggestions but Naomi wouldn’t agree with them.
After she fell asleep, Emily took Michael outside and Madam Gloria followed them. They went far away from where no one would hear them.
“How long has she been having a leg pain?” she asked Michael. “Since we were kids. Parts of the reasons why she left us.” He told them. “Eish! We shouldn’t listen to Naomi, she’ll only hurt herself more. I know what to do but no one should inform her of our plans.” She said and they nodded their heads.
“I’ll be right back.” She said to them and hurried away. “I have to do something about this, Naomi can’t be in pain.” She hurried back inside the apartment and met Grandma coming out of the kitchen.
“Where have you been?” Grandma asked her. “Grandma, I need your help,” Emily said worriedly. “What is it? You don’t look good.” Grandma sat down on the sofa looking at Emily.
“Grandma, that boy that came earlier he’s from the servant's Quarters,” she said. “Yes, I saw his uniform. What happened to him?” she asked. “Not him but his sister. She has been in pains for days now.” She said worriedly.
“Good God. What pain?” Grandma asked. “She’s sick, her leg, it aches her a lot. Please help, they are my friends,” Emily pleaded. “Where is she now?” Grandma asked.
“At the quarters, she’s sleeping now.” Emily was so worried. “I’ll do something about it, Madam Gloria should have informed me that a servant is in pain. But if it’s the boy’s sister, they are too young to be there.”
“Yes Grandma,” Emily nodded her head. “You know what? Take me there now, we shouldn’t waste another minute again.” She stood up and Emily took her to the quarters. Madam Gloria was going in with food when she saw Grandma coming there.
“Why didn’t you inform me of what’s happening? I thought I told you to always tell me when any of the servants are sick.” Grandma scolded her. “I’m sorry Grandma.” She apologized. “Take me to the girl.”
They went inside the room and found Naomi crying in pain. Michael was sitting beside her and he too was sobbing.
“This is terrible.” She turned to Emily. “Go get the driver,” she said. Emily left the Quarters in a hurry and Grandma went closer to Naomi who was lying on the bed.
“What’s her name?” she asked. “Naomi,” Michael answered. “Naomi, you’ll be fine.” Grandma held her hand bug Naomi pushed it away. Grandma didn’t give another meaning to it, she thought it was because Naomi was in pains.
“Don’t worry Naomi, you will be fine,” she said looking at her. Naomi said something but Grandma didn’t hear what she said. Emily returned back with a driver.
“Take Naomi to the hospital,” Grandma said. The driver helped Naomi up but she held the bedsheet tightly not wanting to go. “Leave me alone,” she said to him but he carried her on his arms and left the room.
“Gloria, follow them. I and Emily would come later.” She instructed. Madam Emily and Michael entered the car too and the driver drove out of the house.
“Let’s get ready, we will be leaving now.” They went back to the apartment. Emily went to the room, she carried Jeff and left the room. She wanted to tell Harry they were going out but he was already asleep.
“Are you ready to leave?” Joey said to Evelyn who was sitting on the bed. She was in her normal gown not hospital gown and was been discharged. “Yes, let’s go.” She stretched her hand to Joey to help her stand on her feet. Joey helped her got up and carried the bags on the floor.
“I’m finally going back,” Evelyn smiled. “Will you be going home or my place?” she asked. “Your place, I can’t go home now. I think I need another week in your place. I can’t go home like this, Mum would find out I did something.” Joey shook her head and Evelyn giggled.
“Let’s go.” She went and opened the door for Evelyn to go out. “Thank you.” She touched Joey on the face and Joey rolled her eyes. “You are impossible,” she sighed. “Whatever you say, I’m spending another week at your place.”
They walked down the corridor talking and laughing when suddenly, Joey saw the driver carried a servant to the emergency unit.
“Wait, I recognized that uniform,” she said looking at Evelyn. “What uniform?” Evelyn asked. She didn’t see the driver carrying Naomi inside the emergency unit.
Joey recognized the kid that followed them, that was Michael. She would never forget the twins faces. She quickly changed the topic so that Evelyn wouldn’t know what she was talking about.
“The uniform from my baby’s high school,” she smiled. “Oh okay.” Joey took Evelyn out of the hospital quickly before any one could see Evelyn or Evelyn would see them. As she was driving them out, Grandma’s car was driving in.
None of them saw each other, it was only Joey that saw the car. But being smart, she didn’t allow Evelyn see them.
“I wonder what those people are up to,” Evelyn said and Joey looked at her. “Who?” she asked. “I’m talking about the house. Do you know Harry called me yesterday?” she asked Joey.
“No,” Joey said. She was in the bathroom and she heard everything Evenly was saying to Harry. She hard when she said he should send his Grandma out of the house and a girl named Emily too.
