“He scolded me on why I didn’t call mum or answer any of her call.” She chuckled. “And what did you tell him?” Joey asked driving straight. “I told him I will call her but truth be told, I won’t call that woman. I don’t even want to see her in that house when I return back.”

“Your own Mum?” Joey sighed. “You won’t understand what I’m going through in that woman’s hand. She’s controlling my life. I’m not a teenager again. I’m also a grandma now, Clara and Mona have kids too and that makes me a grandma.” She sighed sadly.

“But do you know everything is your fault? Your Mum really cares about you. She’s controlling you because she knows the kind of a daughter she has. Look Eve, if I’m your Mum, I would do what she’s doing. She just care about you but you are taking it for granted. Fear the day that the world will turn against you.”

“Fear the day that your secrets would be revealed. The only person that can embrace you and won’t abandon you is your Mum,” Evelyn chuckled. “I have Harry.” She rolled her eyes. “Stop deceiving yourself. Harry would be the first to abandon you when he finds out you killed your husband because of him.”

“And your kids too, I already know the twins doesn’t like you. Mona and Clara are next, even if Mona took pity on you in the future. You know Clara won’t, that girl took after you.” Joey turned the steering wheel.

“Stop talking like that. You sound like my Mum.” She brought out her phone from the bag. “Call it whatever you want, I’m your friend and I have to tell you the truth even if it would hurt you. I’m just fed up with your attitude, I thought you would change but you are getting worse day by day.”

“For your information, I heard you ordering him to send your Mum out of his house. Who does that? Where do you want your Mum to go if Harry sends him out of the house?” she asked her.

“She can go stay with my sister. Why do you eavesdrop on my conversation with Harry? It’s none of your business.” She Sneered. “It’s my business!” Joey snapped at her. “Joey, let’s not talk about this…” Joey cut her off.

“We will keep talking about this until you change your lifestyle. Weren’t you even scared that you won’t make it out alive?”

“And do you expect me to keep the pregnancy and carry the shame?” She shook her head. “You know what? You better tell your Mum the truth and bring out the kids from the servant's Quarters. If you don’t do that in one month, I’ll bust your bubble.”

“Are you threatening me?” Evelyn asked Surprisingly. “Yes, I’m threatening you.” She drove the car inside the house. “Joey, what has come over you? You aren’t like this.” Joey parked the car inside the Garage.

“You changed me, come out!” She went out of the car and Evelyn too came out. “Get your bags and meet me inside, we aren’t done,” Evelyn sighed, she carried the bags out of the car and followed Joey inside.

She was surprised by Joey’s sudden change. The Joey she knew always did things she wanted not tell her things to do.

“Joey…” Joey turned around. “Do not call my name. You are beginning to annoy me, just do what I asked you to do or get out of my life for good.” She went to her room and slammed the door.

“Come on!” Evelyn sat down on the sofa, she crossed her legs and let out a laugh. “Are you kidding me? You think I will listen to you?” she giggled. She called on the maid to take her bag inside and to get her something to eat.

“No one orders me around, I do things I want.” She dialed Harry’s number and went to her room.

“Harry, have you did what I asked you to?” she asked him over the phone. “I’m still waiting for the right moment to send them out. You know what, don’t come home now because they will think you are the one that told me to send them away,” Harry said and she smiled. “That’s my boy, I know you won’t fail me,” she smiled.

“Yes Mum, you know I love you and can do anything for you. I missed you a lot,” he sighed over the phone. “I missed you too but you have to endure for another week.” She kissed him over the phone and disconnected the call.

“Wait and see how I take Harry in to my arms.” She dropped the phone on a table and went to the bed.

“She think I’ll do what she want? No way.” He put down his phone. “Let her stay another month there I don’t care. After all, I and Emily’s love would continue increasing each passing day. Speaking of Emily, I wonder where she is.”

He managed out of the bed and limped out of the room with his crouches. The house was quiet and that surprised him. Because ever since Emily started staying with them, the house was always noisy. He went to check up on her in her room to see if she was sleeping but found no one.

“Where is she?” He didn’t see Jeff either. He went to Grandma’s room but didn’t see her too. “I can’t go down and with the look of it, no one is in the living room.” As he was about to turn around, he saw the maid coming out of the room.

“Hey!” He called her. He didn’t know either of their names “Where’s everyone?” he asked. “Grandma and Miss Emily left the house an hour ago,” she said from the sitting room.
