Chapter 104: The Weak Are More Dangerous

“You can also have your vacations there.” He shrugged and sipped his wine. “If you turn it into a resort, it would be a double win. A business and a vacation, more money will flow in and you’d also enjoy a great deal of time there.”

Greg nodded in agreement. That was a fine idea. A big island shouldn’t be left with just a house for one person. It would do good to have others enjoy the luxury. But that should come at a price. There must be a tiny problem if he wasn’t mistaken.

“Are there natives in the island?” He narrowed his eyes and asked.

If natives existed in that island, that should be where the challenge lay. Not all natives were fond of having foreigners barging into their islands with machines and the cities life. It would take a lot of serious to get them to cooperate.

“That shouldn’t be a problem,” Ed replied, indicating there were truly natives inhabiting the place. “The island’s not far from the city. The natives there are quiet civilized.”

“That’s good.” Greg nodded and his lips crept up. If the natives turned out friendly, then a vacation on that island would even be more fun.

“So, what do you say?” Ed asked. “Should we go on with it and hire the construction company?”

“You’ve got it.” Greg slapped his shoulders. “The best construction company, specifically for the resorts.”

“That is covered.” Ed assured him. “You’d come for the inspection soon, think I should move there for the time being.” He raised his glass at Greg and gave him a grin.

Greg thought that a great idea. Since Ed would overlook the project, as he had connections with the construction companies, it would do no harm to move into the island. He’d have a great time and inspect things as well.

“Just make sure you don’t piss the natives off,” Greg joked. “Heard the men are very protective of their women.”

“Oh, I won’t.” Ed chuckled and winked. “Trina’s going with me. She’d be damned if I dare look at another woman.”

“You’re official then?”

“Nope. Not yet.” Ed didn’t waste time to reply.

And Greg wondered. He wondered why he was the only unfortunate one in the cycle. Or he had turned out to be.

Every of the guys knew not to dive headfirst into a relationship. Well– he was somehow fortunate. Because his wouldn’t be completely called a relationship. It was one-sided and it was going to end soon. He found himself downing the water-like wine and a dark laugh left his lips. Maybe he should join Ed in that island. He’d get out of this mess and find himself with a breath of nature’s fresh air. Damn! He’d even go to hell if he had to. As long as he’d get out of this mess.

He’d pack his workload there if he had to. He’d even bring his assistant with him.

“Dude, you’re tensed.” Ed gave him a scrutinizing look. “I might be forced to believe the rumors were—”

“No, they’re not.” Greg cut him off and decided to distract himself by taking picking up the beer’s bottle and pouring himself some wine.

But Ed was not about to stop. He looked as if he found something suspicious and as he was about to press on—

A loud knock from a distance caught their attention. Something had fell down. No, it was someone. Some girls had broke into a fight. There was no doubt one of the guys had been the bone of contention.

And the so called guy was watching the show amusingly.

“Andrew’s a jerk.” Ed shook his head and laughed.

“We all are,” Greg found himself saying. However, he only mumbled it under his breath. He didn’t even know why those words had left his mouth. If a thousand girls tear themselves apart for him, he didn’t see why he should be bothered.

They’d return to their senses later on and realize they weren’t different from the ones that had been tossed aside. He’d give them what they want then and get them off his back.

Nagging girls were hard to deal with. Especially ones that dared to take things seriously. They were soon gone than they came. Only the flightul ones stayed.

That had been the norm in that circle. And every girl knew the rule. The men as well, played by that.

Whoever decide to do things otherwise and got serious in a relationship, would be mark off the bachelor’s list and no longer consider a member.

Some stupid rules he’d been among the people that set them up. But, it was only for their advantage. Men needed to keep their head in the right spot in order to have full control of their lives. Getting serious about a woman— well, the consequences would be ending up like— him.

He’d been the most unfortunate to break out of the rule.

He took his eyes off the girls. George looked lost in his own world to give a damn. Even when one of his precious statue figures ended up being smashed on the wall, he didn’t bat an eye. The tv screen was lucky enough not to suffer the same fate. Because the so-called jerk, Andrew, finally decided to step between the girls.

Well— he ended up getting a blow in the eye.

“Woah. That’s deep.” Ed shuddered and laughed at the sudden chaos.

Greg also couldn’t help but chuckle. Now, that was a great show. And he gave it his full attention. More chaos had erupted. Seemed like the girls came prepared tonight. Andrew might get beaten to a pulp for all he cared.

“Geez, strong women are something.” Ed clicked his tongue. “I prefer the weak ones. The dude’s surely bit off more than he could chew.”

“I know right.”

Greg nodded. But the weak ones were more dangerous. He wanted to counter his friend. But that would only incite more questions he wouldn’t want to answer.

He wasn’t ready to tell his friend that he infact knew of a weak one who could bring chaos to the world and send all men to war.
