The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 105: Save The Damsel
Chapter 105
Amidst the chaos, there wasn’t any sign of the girls stopping soon. In fact, they didn’t seem like they were going to let go of the poor guy soon. They strangled his neck and scratched. And those that tried to peel them off the poor, ended up with the same fate.
“It would be shameful to die like this.” Ed gave the scene a sympathetic look. “Bet his family’s going to start searching for a new heir. He’d be lucky if he’d go some girl knocked up. They’d have something to look up to.”
Greg shook his head at his friend’s sarcastic words. And Ed was about to continue, but another chaos erupted.
A loud bang was heared and the blaring of alarm signals. The fire alarm.
Greg’s hand shook and he dropped the glass of wine. What the heck!?
The scene immediately changed. People that were watching and had been recording the fighting scene were now in a clamor of confusion. Everyone was searching for their shoes and whatsoever they deemed matter to them. And they all started flooding out of the house.
He only had to glance at his side to see that Ed had also gone.
In that instant, the house was empty. None cared if there was truly a fire or not. They had all left in those flicker of seconds. But Greg cared. In fact, it was terrifying. And his eyes went to his brother who was leaning lazily against the couch. They were now the only ones in the room.
And George was staring back at him. Despite being drunk, he was still in his senses. He gave him a knowing look and a subtle smile appeared on his lips. Silence hung between them as the alarm kept blaring. It was everywhere and the whole street would have been awoken by it surely.
Greg’s heart stopped between for a long while. He couldn’t react to the alarm nor his surroundings. Hell! He didn’t even know where he was. It wasn’t a fire. It was an alarm he knew well. An alarm he and his brother had set up.
“What are you waiting for, Dude!?” George yelled out to him from the couch. “I think she wants you now. Go save your damsel!”
Go save her? Greg’s eyes widened and he once again lost all trains of his thoughts. She pressed the button. How was that possible? Why did she press the button.
Before he knew it, his hands shoved inside his pants pocket to bring out his phone while his legs pushed him toward the entrance. His damned legs.
The same alarm was on his phone and the device gave off a loud noise. He turned it off as his fingers jabbed at the screen to find the location of the tracker.
“Extend my appreciation for putting a halt to this party!” George’s yelling voice faded behind him as Greg’s was already at the door.
He strode out of the house, not sure where his legs were taking him and definitely unaware of whatever the hell he was doing.
And once he located the device, he let out a loud curse. It was truly her. There was no doubt she had pressed it.
Did she need help? Why would she need help now?
And shit! What was he doing?
Greg’s house was shaking with the same noise of the alarm and when he entered it, he turned the damn thing off.
And the next thing he did. He found himself running for the stairs to retrieve his car keys.
Then he came down again and found himself inside his car and zooming out of the neighborhood.
It all happened in a few seconds he couldn’t even bring himself to breath.
Damnit! He let out another curse as he sped through the city.
What the hell was he doing? Just how helpless could he get? And why would she press the button now. Why the hell would she?
And was she even the one that pressed it? It must be someone else and here he was, running for the rescue like a fool he was.
But the damn thing was located inside her house. Heck! He couldn’t miss that. Whoever had pressed it resided in that house. And none knew of the button except her. She was the only one in possession of it.
He had foolishly given it to her, hoping she would ask for help. Well, she didn’t. And she didn’t show any sign she needed his help anymore.
Why then did she press it now? And in this time of the night?
Was she in trouble?
No, the important thing to ask was if he was in trouble. Because that wasn’t a question. He truly was in trouble. Otherwise, despite all the damn promises he had made to himself. And those stupid vows he had made. Why then in the freaking world was he on his way down to where she lived just because of some cursed alarm button?
Why was the thought of her being in trouble the only thing eating at him in the moment? Hell, he couldn’t even breath.
Even when he rolled down all the windows to let the air flushec inside the car, he felt suffocated. More than anything.
He might as well dive into a pool of water. Hell! He was perched at the moment.
He could never breath nor swallow. He felt suffocated and his throat was perched as well.
And every promises he’d made to himself came shattering down like broken glasses. Those barriers he thought he was finally managing to build around himself again, slowly, well— none existed anymore.
He’d lost himself because of that freaking sound. And he was on his way because she was in trouble.
Hadn’t that been what he’d done before only to be told off that it wasn’t his business? What if she told him off even this time? But hell! She had pressed the button and she was going to get whatever the hell was coming to her.
