The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 28: Humiliated
Chapter 28
“What are you still doing? I told you to get out!” Her father lifted his cane and both her brothers walked forward.
“Father–”
“Father–”
“Stay out of this, both of you,” The middle-aged man thundered. He held his chest then turn to her. “Don’t let me repeat myself.”
Her sisters-in-law sobbed and covered their mouth.
“W– We can’t take her to the basement,” said her second brother.
“Shut up!” Her father glared at him. “She thinks everyone is too small to discipline her. She can now do whatever she likes… You’re no longer one of us!” He turned to her and everyone in the room gasped. “You are not part of this family. And from now on, I don’t have a daughter like you.”
Lucy froze and everything became still. Her father was disowning her? Her stomach turned and dizziness overtook her.
“F– Father—”
“Never utter that name out of your mouth. Get out of this house, otherwise, I’ll use my hands to choke you to death.”
Lucy bit her lips and blinked rapidly. She rised up on wobbly legs and her hands wondered to the wall for support. Her eyes wandered from her father to her brothers who stared at her in agony, then to her mother and sisters-in-law. They were both sobbing.
She turned around in a daze and staggered out of the room, her whole world crumbling into dusts.
‘And if any of you looks for her, the worst is going to happen.’
She could hear him saying to her brothers. This was it. Her shoulders shook rapidly as she sobbed. Yesterday, she had everything, and today she’s left with nothing. Her family, her everything, they were all gone.
Her eyes burned and her heart throbbed with pain. When she reached her room’s door, she paused for a second, then kept on walking. She was finally free from the clutches of her family, then why does she feel like her life had been ripped out?
Apart from the heartache, all she could feel was emptyness.
A figure walked up to her and when she looked up, Ara was staring back with bloodshot eyes.
“Y– Young Miss, please don’t leave,” the maid stammered.
Lucy shook her head and swallowed hard. She didn’t have a choice. Her parents want nothing to do with her anymore. She was no longer a mistress in this house, she doesn’t deserve that tittle.
She wobbled past the maid and down the stairs while gripping the railing.
When she stepped out of the large door, the securities had their heads lowered. Several other servants stood at a corner looking crestfallen.
Her hold tightened around her purse and she gave the mansion a last glance, then walked out of the still opened gate.
She passed by a few mansions that stood in the same area. Gina’s house was not so far ahead. But why should she go there? What would the girls parents think of her after what happened last night?
She had to remain strong. Yes she had to be strong. To face whatever awaits her out there in the world. Now that she doesn’t have protection or family, she had to braze herself for any kind of storm that awaited her out there.
At Country V.
Cedric paced in his room with clenched fists, kicking and breaking everything in his way.
The plasma TV on the whole had shattered into pieces. The desks flung across the floor. The bedshits tossed on the floor. The glass mirror, broken beyond repair.
The whole room was in a mess as he continued kicking, yelling, and cursing.
If only he could wipe off the memory of last night. If only he had paid rapt attention. He shouldn’t have trusted them. The guys that had been his frenemies during school. He thought they were finally on the same page. They dared played that trick on him.
He hadn’t expected anything when took her from his arms. Thinking that they’d appeared to join in the celebration. What a joke. He should have seen it coming. Now, he not only was the laughing stock, but the biggest fool of the century. He had never been this humiliated his whole life.
His eyes turned red and he tossed the bedside lamp.
The door creaked open and his sister quickly dodged another bedside lamp that flew in her direction.
“B– Brother.”
“What is it?”
He glared at her and she cowered back with eyes filled with fear.
“F– Father wants to see you,” she stuttered then turned back and hurried out.
Cedric’s fists clenched and unclenched as his chest heaved up and down. He tried to calm his breathing and after a few seconds, he strode out of the room.
When he reached downstairs to the living room, his father was sitting on a couch while his mother, was walking back and forth in anger.
“I can’t believe this.” She bit her fingers. “How could they do this to us. She was seeing someone, why did they put us in the dark? Because of this scandal, they not only made fool of us in front of the world, but now we’ll be the talk of the rest of the family.” She paused to catch her breath then turned to her husband and said, “I told you Honey, this was a bad idea. Trying to get back with the rest of the family is a waste of time. Now, see what it has caused us.”
“Silence, woman,” The middle-aged man murmured with his eyes closed.
“Tell me why I shouldn’t speak.” She flailed her hands. “And why are you acting nonchalant and all calm in this situation? Look what they’ve done to our son. Not only did he lose his reputation, he also has to bear this shame for the rest of his life.”
Cedric’s eyes turned darker at his mother’s words. And the fact that she was telling the truth just made the rage in his eyes stronger.
