The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 43: The Airport
Chapter 43
Lucy’s mouth opened and she blinked. She quickly wriggled out of his hold and took several steps back.
However, he followed her. He kept on following her with his eyes still fixed on her and that evil smirk getting bigger.
The back of her legs hit the couch and she fell down on it with a plop.
He leaned forward and placed both palms beside her, trapping her again.
“Oh, I have also made sure to lock the door… No one will disturb us.”
“No, I don’t know who you’re talking about, I’m only a stranger here,” Lucy blurted out rapidly then her eyes widened and she quickly covered her mouth. ‘Oh, Shit!’
“Caught you, Princess,” he whispered to her face, then leaned back and let out another chuckle.
Lucy dropped her shoulders and let out a helpless sound. She covered her face with her palms and sighed in defeat. ‘This idiot.’ He knew all along. Now she was doomed, completely doom.
“Tsk tsk tsk, I your acting skills really impressed me.” He clicked his tongue and sat beside her.
Lucy shifted to the other side of the couch and gave him a guarded look.
“Now, tell me why you’re pulling all these stunts only to see me,” he said with a smile of mischief. “I can remember someone telling me they don’t want to see me again.”
“I’m not here to see you.” Lucy gave him a glare with pursed lips.
“Oh, really?” He taunted. “But it doesn’t seem like it.”
“I said I’m not here for you. It was all a coincidence. I accidentally entered this company, Urgh, now I’m doomed.”
“You’re right, you’re doomed.” He nodded with a chuckle. “Do you think I’ll believe that? You didn’t come here to see me? You also said you don’t need my help anymore.”
Lucy looked at him and she sighed. Arguing with him would only drained her energy. And now that her cover was blown, there was no use wasting her time here anymore.
“And what are you doing with this disguise? Didn’t someone tell you you look like a dole?”
“I know I look great.” Lucy gritted out and gave him another glare.
“Yeah, you look great.” He agreed. “In a cute way to give me a surprise.”
Lucy sighed helplessly and held her head. “Look, Greg… I’m in crisis right now, and I really want to get out of this place as soon as possible.”
“What crisis?” He raised a brow. “I don’t see why you should be in crisis. Since you even have time to put on a new look, you must be enjoying your life.”
He gave her a look as if she had done something wrong and Lucy sighed again.
“Just help me get out of here, Please. I don’t want to bump into those securities and that woman that looks like your boss.”
“Oh, that.” Greg leaned back against the couch and chuckled. “She’s my new assistant,” he said nonchalantly. “And it is perfect you’re here, because you have a dept to pay.”
Lucy folded her hands and gave him a look of disbelief. What had she done now? “Just help me get out of here, Greg. And I might forgive you for ruining my engagement.”
He looked at her as if she was a fool, then he let out a dark chuckle.
“Engagement,” he scoffed. “Let me tell you, Princess. I don’t appologize for what I do. And for your information.” He moved closer and stare into her eyes. “I don’t regret helping you, even though that woman there was brought as a result of that. I can only think of making you pay to get even.”
Lucy blinked and her mouth hung open. Now she was even the one at fault. What did she have to do with his new assistant? And how was he going to make her pay for what she didn’t even do? Why did she even get entangle with this dangerous guy in the first place?
“I– I don’t know what you’re talking about… Just let me go, and we won’t see each other again.” She shifted away from him and stammered.
With that look he was giving her now? Who knew what more disasters he could bring into her life?
“Right, you don’t know.” Greg sat down straight and shrugged. “But I can’t let you go, Princess. Where exactly are you even going? Didn’t your crazy friend say your parents are mad?”
“Gina?” Lucy stared at him with a frown and he nodded. How did he hear it from Gina? However, that wasn’t important now.
“No, you have to let me go really. Someone is waiting for me outside, I have to catch the flight as soon as I can,” she said rapidly.
“Flight?” Greg stared at her in confusion.
“Yes.” Lucy’s grip tightened on her purse. “You can see now why I’m dressed this way. I’m leaving this place. And I promise we won’t see each other anymore. Now, help me out please.”
She put both palms together and pleaded. But his eyes wasn’t on her. He was staring through her with that far-off look, and his expression changed with something indescribable.
“You’re living the country?” He returned his attention to her and questioned again.
Lucy nodded slowly and fiddled with her purse. “Now, let me go…” She looked up through her lashes and gave him a pleading look.
Greg remained silent for several seconds as if pondering on something. Then his attention turned to her and he gave her a node.
“Let’s go.” He stood up and extended his hand.
Lucy held out her hand hesitantly and he took it. “Where are we going?” She asked as he pulled her out of the office.
“I don’t know.” Greg shrugged. “Maybe the airport.”
“Really?” Lucy’s eyes lit up. Even though she could only see his back and didn’t know the expression on his face, releif washed over her and she even chuckled.
“I said Maybe.” Greg chuckled.
