The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 51: He Kissed Her
Chapter 51
“I missed you too.” Gina sniffed and dragged her to sit on the couch and also sat beside her. She started wiping her tears and asked, “What happened to your hair, Lucy. I could barely recognize you. And what are you doing here? Wait, did Greg kidnap you? Did he do this to your appearance?”
Gina’s anger returned. She wouldn’t put it past the cunming twin to do that. Did he have he friend all along? And lied to her that morning?
Lucy chuckled and dropped the glass milk on a table beside them. She shook her head and told Gina all she had been through after the engagement, without leaving everything out.
“Oh my God.” Gina gasped and splayed a hand on her chest after hearing the whole story. Her heart broke again and she sniffled. “Your sister-in-laws were right. How could your father do that?” She hugged Lucy again. “Shouldn’t he be happy that you were literally saved from that basterd Cedric? Why didn’t you tell them what Cedric did and his true intentions?”
“I tried to, but he wouldn’t listen,” Lucy explained. “Besides, he was so angry about how it escalated in the media. You know how Father values reputation a lot.”
Gina nodded with a heavy sigh. “It was partly my fault too.” She pressed her lips together. “I shouldn’t have conspired with these stupid twins and helped them. We would have come up with something else.”
“It’s not your fault.” Lucy took her hand. “Cedric was so abusive. I thought we would have been able to come up with anything. He was planning to take me away immediately after the engagement.”
“That useless basterd,” Gina exaimed as her blood boiled with rage and her anger returned tensfold. “How I wish I could lay my hands on him. I will shred him into pieces with this knife and give him the most painful death!”
Her conspiracy with the twins wasn’t a waste after all. And she couldn’t help but celebrate inside that he had to witness how Lucy was swept away into another man’s arms immediately after they got engaged name. It must have left him in shame and embarrassed.
But then, something snapped in her head and she let out a gasp.
“Lucy, your brothers have been searching for you,” she said anxiously. “Your sisters-in-laws are also worried. I heard your Mum is sick.” She paused for a few seconds as Lucy’s expression turned gloomy and her shoulders dropped. “And also…” Gina trailed off, finding it hard to be able to break the news. “I– I heard Cedric returned. He went to see your parents.”
Lucy’s eyes flew wide and her hand flew to her mouth. She looked so shocked and shaken, Gina had to hold her. “He– He’s b-back?” She said past trembling lips.
Gina gave her a nod and sighed again, her jaws clenched and her face hardened. “I wonder what that basterd is up to. I don’t like him, Lucy. He reeks of evil and mischief.”
“I– I don’t like him either,” Lucy stuttered again and she wrapped both arms around herself in fright. The fear in her eyes increased and Gina was worried. She was worried that that scumbag had traumatized her friend.
“Don’t worry, Lucy. I don’t think he can do anything now.” She tried to reassure her but the fears didn’t seize from Lucy’s eyes.
“Lucy.” Gina shook her friend, whose hands had started shaking.
“I don’t want to see him, Gina.” Tears returned to Lucy’s eyes Gina could almost hear her heart pounding. “I– I don’t like him. Why did he go to see my parents? I’m very sure he’s up to no good.”
“It’s alright.” Gina patted her back. “Don’t let him scare you. He can’t do anything to you. All you have to do is tell your parents what his true color is. I know your brothers will believe you. They’ll help you convince your father.”
Gina’s heart ached so much to see her friend in this state. It was no doubt that Cedric had traumatized her. Lucy was so naïve and innocent. She was so used to being treated good all the time. She thought everyone friendly. Cedric’s actions must have shocked her so much.
She kept patting her on the back until Lucy’s muscled relaxed and she could feel the tension leaving her body.
“Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I will never allow Cedric do anything to you,” Gina added in a soft voice. “You also have to brace yourself and don’t let him scare you. Those kind of men will only feed on your fears. It always makes them feel more powerful.”
Lucy sighed again and nodded. After parting from the hug, she wiped her fresh tears then picked up the milk glass.
“Do you want me to tell your brothers you’re here?” Gina asked.
“No.” Lucy shook her head. “I will call them myself after my phone’s battery is full. It is charging currently.”
“Okay.” Gina smiled. “Although I don’t trust this Greg, I think he is much safer to be with. Just don’t fall for any of his tricks,” she said after a while.
Besides, Greg wasn’t reliable. The twins were like the number play boys in the city. He wouldn’t possibly do anything harmful to her friend. He had a bunch of ladies hovering over him already. Another struck of luck, Lucy couldn’t possibly fall in love. So she was safe for developing any feeling for him and having her heart shattered.
“And most importantly,” Gina added. “Don’t let him touch you no matter what,” she said sternly this time.
She didn’t trust the evil twin not to try anything crazy with her friend. “Don’t do intimate things with him,” she warned again.
Lucy nodded with her head down and one hand wandered to her lips.
Gina frowned at the sight of that. “Why are you touching your lips, Lucy?” She asked with uncertainty.
“Greg kissed me,” Lucy blurted out.
