The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 68: Where Was She
Chapter 68
He didn’t reply to her question and kept moving them forward. He just glanced back and gave her a gentle smile.
Did he not hear her? Lucy was sure he’d very much hear her.
Her eyes went back to the crowd as he led her out of the front door.
There was still no sign of Greg. Where was Greg? Had he really left without her? Panic gripped her heart. And where was Jai taking her? He was surely taking her out of the bar. Would he give her a ride back to Greg’s place? What if Greg wasn’t home yet? And what if he was still here and would start looking for her?
And another unprecedented thought interrupted the many questions in her head. What if Cedric came after them?
As they left the bar, Lucy couldn’t help but clutch at Jai’s hand. Despite not knowing where he would take her, she’d rather prefer to be with him instead getting caught again by Cedric.
She had the urge to go back in there and look for Greg. But that only meant bumping into Cedric. She might bump into him and who knew what he might do next?
Streams of cars were scattered around the parking lot. There weren’t many people there. And Jai pulled her toward one of the cars, which was probably his car.
Lucy’s eyes wandered around the place under the dim lights. If only she could find Greg’s car among these many cars. She’d be reassured that he was still here. She would ask Jai to help her find him.
The problem was, she couldn’t even remember where they’d parked when they arrived here. Her head was still muddled, the only thoughts in head was the horrible incident from a while ago and this chance encounter with Jai.
“Jai.” She called his attention and wriggled her hand to make him stop.
Jai halted in his steps as they neared his car. He turned around and gave her a gentle look.
“W-Where are you taking us?” Lucy voiced out her questions.
“It’s not important.” Jai’s lips stretched into a smile. “Let’s take you out of here first.”
Then he took her hand again. And Lucy was apprehensive. She wanted so badly to find Greg, but where was Greg?
The music inside the bar was too loud, Greg could barely hear his own voice. He focused his eyes on every corner, scrutinizing every figure. She wasn’t there. How could she disappear all of a sudden?
She shouldn’t have left the bar. But she was nowhere to be found. He’d turned the whole bar upside down already. His breathing was ragged as she shoved past the crowd like a maniac.
Those stupid girls. When they’d returned to the suite without her, he needed not to ask why they had left her alone. They were intimidated and he had made sure each of them had a dozen of their own medicine.
Well, that hadn’t disppelled the anger in him. In fact, it heightened. None of his men had seen the blonde. Everyone would recognize her. She had been dancing on the stage not long ago.
But no one had admitted they saw her leave the bar. Were they so drunk and carried away by the music?
The men returned to him almost all at the same time. They had also been in the bar and wouldn’t miss recognizing her or a figure similar to hers.
They were close acquaintances and if there was anything unusual in the bar, they’d be the ones to notice it first.
But at the look of their expressions, Greg didn’t need to ask to know what their answers might be. They didn’t see her, it was written on their faces.
“We’ve searched everywhere for any drunk blonde. There were two of them, none looked like her.”
One if the guys spoke up.
Greg ran a hand through his hair and cursed under his breath. Damnit! Where could she have wandered to?
He was afraid some stupid scumbag had lay their hands on her. But none would dare to do that here. Not after seeing her with him. They would rather prefer their bodies chopped off by a butcher.
He waived the guys off and they all nodded and dispersed to carry on with whatever they had been doing before he summoned them. Greg didn’t care. All he wanted now was to find her.
The fact that she was drunk put her in imminent danger. And he started to wonder. Did he do a great thing by bringing her here?
She had fun and she ended up missing. What was the gain in that?
He look around the crowded place once more. His gaze even went to the stage. He couldn’t see any girl that looked like her.
His heart tightened with what he would only attest to fear and his hands balled into fists.
His legs were glued in one place. He couldn’t move forward or backward. If he went back inside the bar,he was afraid his search would turn out pointless. He’d crossed check everywhere including the washroom. There was no sight of her. He had even barged into the several suites and walked on several couples to be met with provocative sights, yet he didn’t find her.
Should he go outside and search instead? But no one had seen her leave. She couldn’t even get pass these crowd of people, that he was certain off. The main door was occupied and a lot of people were still streaming inside. There was no chance that she wouldn’t be knocked down if she tried to walk past it in her drunken state. If she had, he would at least find her with broken bones.
Damnit! He let out another curse and kicked the air.
If she hadn’t left through the main door. And she wasn’t also here. There was only one place to look. And even though he dreaded it, Greg found himself waddling through the crowd again toward the backdoor.
