Chapter 82: Would She Not Be Able To Go Out

He gave her an evil grin and sauntered past her with both hands on his pockets. When he reached the security, he patted the guy on the shoulder and whispered something in his ear before heading out. He didn’t turn back to have one last look at her. And Lucy could hear him chuckling as he shook his head, his voice fading into the distance.

Lucy’s heart tightened and she swallowed. Her eyes left the door and she glanced upstairs where her parents had headed.

She wiped her tears furiously and gave the security guy a guarded look. He wouldn’t follow her parents’ instructions right?

All the servants loved and adored her, the securities weren’t an exception. He’d surely understand her out of this chaos. The servants had always understood her.

Her fingers clutched the straps of her bag and she took a hasty step toward the door, her heart drumming again.

But her thoughts were all wrong and before she knew it, the security guy blocked her path.

“I’m so sorry, Young Miss,” he said in a helpless voice. And he all but scooped her in his arms and flung her over his shoulder as if she didn’t weigh anything.

“Let go of me!” Lucy sobbed and beat at his back. She screamed and yelled but her words only fell on deaf ears.

“You can’t listen to them, Jonah!” Her sobs increased as well as her panic. Jonah was taking her upstairs back to her room. “Please put me down. I need you to help me!”

Her bag fell. She begged and continued screaming. The whole room was filled with her heartbreaking sobs but the security guy didn’t waver. He remained as a statue and when he reached her room, he pushed the door open with his leg and deposited her on the bed.

“D-Don’t do this, Jonah—” she attempted to run after him, out of the room but he shut the door on her face and locked it from outside.

“Please open it!” Lucy banged at the door and keep on screaming, knowing that he was standing outside, keeping guard of her and listening to her. He never made any movement or sound.

And as she continued screaming and banging on the door until her knuckles ached and her throat was perched, no sound came from the outside.

Not even her parents who were in one of the rooms down the hallway, or even the servants that must be listening from everywhere. Everyone ignored her screams and pleas, and she collapsed helplessly against the door.

How had things come to this? How was Cedric able to manipulate her parents so easily? What would he gain by doing this? It was obvious he didn’t love her. If he had really fallen for her the way he claimed, he wouldn’t be doing this to her.

She never had that deep feelings for any man but she knew that was not how things worked. If he loved her, he wouldn’t force her to do anything. He wouldn’t be this infatuated with making her life hell.

His deceit was unforgivable. He had coaxed and fooled her parents. He was happy to see her in this misery. He even dared to threaten her she better be untouched. Had he claimed her as his already? Did he really think she would ever like to be with him.

The heavy feeling in her chest increased and she felt suffocated. Her sobs turned into hiccups and she slumped down beside the door, burying her head in her knees.

If she had known this would happen. If she had known things would turn out like this and Cedric was going to use his words against her, she would have never thought of coming back here to see her parents.

It was useless to think that her encounter with him at the bar would make them see him for who he really was.

But no. Her father even attempted to beat her because she had stepped foot in a bar. And right now, she would have prefered his anger to this sudden turn of events. If he was going to chase her out this time, she would be so glad.

She would be glad to go back to Greg. She wouldn’t mind leaving everything behind. She had after all, lost hope that she would ever get the chance to step foot here again.

She had given up everything and was willing to stay with Greg. But now, because of her foolishness, she had blindly came here, thinking Cedric would at least have some pride and leave her alone because she had caught him red-handed in a bar. But hell! That guy was the cruelest person she could ever think of.

He didn’t have pride after all. It wasn’t his problem that she’d lived with another man. He would take her back. And he would make her pay if he found out she wasn’t untouched. How unfortunate of her to think things would have turned out in her favor.

She looked up after a while and her eyes surveyed her room. In a corner, the gifts were still stack up there. The gifts for her engagement. Everything was still the same.

The last time she had left this room, she had walked out happy. She had been esctatic that evening because her engagement was that night. Who knew she’d return now, this way and also miserable at that.

She sniffed back the tears that threatened to fall again and wiped her eyes to clear her vision. The heaviness had been lifted off her chest after crying for so long. And right now, all she felt was emptiness. She felt numb everywhere. Was this it?

Now that her parents had resorted to confining her at home, would she not be able to go out again or even look for Greg?
