The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 86: A Trap
Chapter 86
“Not so fast.” He caught her hand in his which was now barely an inch from his chest.
Thea’s eyes widened in pretense but the suggestive look on her face didn’t waver. If anything, she only inched closer to him.
“I get that your are knew.” Greg pushed her hand away and started buttoning up his shirt. “I would let you know that my employees are off limits.”
“Oh.” Thea nodded in realization and got down from the desk. Then she stepped forward to stand right in front of him, taking his hand as he undid the last button.
“But this employee is different, Sir.” Her lips stretched into a smile. “Besides, we are going to spend a lot of time together from now. I’ll be doing Mrs. Wood’s job when she’s not around remember?”
Greg’s brows creased into a frown. When had she told him all this? Was it in the morning? Well— his thoughts had only been occupied with one person, he wouldn’t have recalled everything said to him then even if a microphone was pressed to his ears.
He’d been anxious, as well as nervous. He’d even had the urge to race to her parents’ mansion and let everything unfold in his presence. He had the urge to go there and see what the outcome of the meeting would be. Even though he already anticipated the outcome.
“So, isn’t it better to start forging our relationship from now?” Thea went on to trace her fingers down his arm. “After all, I shall be your temporary assistant. Your personal assistant for a while.”
She put emphasis on the word personal and batted her lashes again.
Greg had been lost in his thoughts again until her voice pulled him back to reality. He should laugh or commend her bold words. After all, no woman had ever advanced on him so boldly. Not even his employees.
They’d kept their distances. He would only hear their fantasies of him from behind walls. She had been the first that turned out to be so daring and bold. He had to commend her for that.
But that was where his accolade would only stop. Because something else had distrupted his thoughts again. His attention had been severed just at the rememberance of her.
And he found himself pushing the daring employee aside.
“Go and get the cleaners. If you can sort out these files by tomorrow, you might get to keep your job.” He rose to his feet and put the remaining buttons of his shirt in their place.
Now. He was even punishing her. How wonderful of him. Why did he have to feel this sudden irritation in his chest? An irritation at the sight of another woman trying to seduce him?
He breathed out a heavy breath and picked up his phone. Just how much miserable could his life get?
But Thea didn’t look faze. Her expression turned gloomy for some seconds before she slowly shook her head.
“It’s no problem, Sir. I’ll make sure I sort every one of the papers out.” She said with a sweet smile. “You won’t find anything out of its place by tomorrow.” She paused and let her voice get softer. “All I hope is to get a very nice reward.”
That suggestive look in her eyes returned and Greg pushed past her and strode out of the office before he could do anything crazy. She wasn’t going to get any reward. In fact he was afraid he would fire her if he linger there and keep on listening to her.
Those thoughts that irritated and made him angry, he wasn’t sure now whether it was due to her provocative actions that had made his anger flare to another level. Hell! He didn’t know why he was so raging mad at the moment.
And why did her face keep flashing in his vision? He couldn’t even close his eyes because he’d still see her.
Those large expressive eyes blinking at him and begging him to let her shop she clothes at the place she desired. That image had forever remained glued to his bran. He couldn’t finish his breakfast or even afford to give her another look. He kept having second thoughts if she hadn’t done that purposely, to stir things even he couldn’t fathom in him. But her innocent look said otherwise. If she had done that on purpose, then she had managed to conceal it well.
She had left him with an unforgettable memory, he knew he’d be stuck with it for many nights. That image that kept playing in his head, hopefully, it wouldn’t be a trap. A trap that had something to do with his sudden lose of freedom. Damnit! He needed to cleared those memories as soon as he could. He would rid his brain of that image. That face. He’d do anything to achieve that. He couldn’t torture himself. Not while she was there and enjoying a blissful life with that son of a bitch.
Shit! To hell with nightclubs or bar. Time to put the century’s old wines in his home to use.
