The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 89: Traitor
Chapter 89
Her parents might decide to keep on locking her here, thinking she would bone day return to her senses. As long as they kept her locked here and they wouldn’t push her to Cedric, she would be contented to be confined in her own room instead of someone else’s grips.
“Young Miss.” Ara voice brought her out of her thoughts and the girl gave her a sympathetic look. “You won’t have to go there alone. I promise I’ll go with you. I’ll be with you all the time, and won’t allow anything bad happen to you.”
“You’ll do that?” Lucy was stunned.
Ara gave her an affirmative nod and took her hands again. “I’ll be happy to go anywhere with you, Young Miss.” She smiled bitterly. “I’ll protect you always and we’ll fight him together. He won’t do anything to you, because I’ll make sure of that. The short time you’ll spend with him, I’ll see to it that you don’t get sad. You’ll get the divorce and we’ll return here together.”
Lucy’s eyes watered at the maid’s words and she found herself hugging the girl. Ara would do all that for her?
She had never thought that the girl would ever agree to follow her when she got married. Not when it was going to be with Cedric.
However, now she even proposed this herself?
She was willing to stand up to Cedric and fight him because of her? That was too hard to believe.
Girls like Ara should be running away from people like Cedric, just the way she had warned her to. She wouldn’t even want to be in the same proximity as Cedric. She would take to her heels the instant Cedric was mentioned. But now, she wanted to go with her?
That would make things easier for Lucy. She wouldn’t need to be scared by then. She would have Ara by her side, and no matter what Cedric did, she would be assured that she had someone by her side to help and support her.
Yet, would that be enough? Would Ara be able to help her fend Cedric off?
“Don’t worry about anything, Young Miss. I’ll always have your back.” Ara sighed and patted her on the back as if hearing her thoughts.
Lucy pulled away from the hug and sniffed. Her eyes roamed over the maids petite figure. She wasn’t that much different from her. She had the same petite figure as Lucy had. In fact, Lucy was even taller than her by a few inches.
Would they both be able to fight against Cedric? Cedric was way much bigger and stronger than them both. Wouldn’t they end up being the ones at the receiving end?
“If you agree now, there won’t be problems anymore. And we’ll also start with our plans.” Ara gave her a smile, her eyes now shining happily. “I promise you’re not going to regret this, Young Miss. Things will turn out the way we wanted in the e—”
A knock from the door stopped her in her words and both girls gasped.
Was someone coming? Lucy’s head flipped to the door. And she glanced back at Ara, giving her a fearful look.
“You’re taking too long, Ara.”
They both sighed in relief as the voice came from outside. It was only Jonah. Lucy had almost forgotten about him. Thankfully, Ara had been whispering all the time. He shouldn’t have heard what they were saying.
“I’ll come out now, Jonah,” Ara yelled out to the security and she stood up.
“Think about it, Young Miss.” She held Lucy’s shoulder. “The sooner we start everything, the earlier it will all end.”
The sooner she agreed to marry Cedric. Lucy swallowed and she gave her a slow nod. The sooner she agreed to marry Cedric, the earlier she would be out of this dilemma. If things went as they would plan, everything would flow smoothly and Cedric would be out of her life in no time.
“I’ll think over it, Ara.” Her lips curled up slightly. She would think over it, even though all her nerves were currently breaking inside. The thought was still making her body shake inside.
Ara gave her a nod and gloom flashed in her eyes. “Things will be fine, Young Miss.” She gave her a sad smile. “Just, don’t prolong things, okay?”
“Okay.” Lucy nodded.
“Ara.”
Jonah’s annoyed voice came from the door. “You won’t want be to come in there, will you?”
“Urgh, come on, Jonah.” Ara pursed her lips. “Stop acting as if you’re world’s top security.”
“Master is coming in this direction,” Jonah replied in a dull voice. “I won’t say you didn’t coaxe me to let you inside. I won’t also hesitate to let him now you’ve spent almost thirty minutes here.”
“Jonah, you traitor.”
Both girls gasped and exchanged frightful glances.
“Master is here.” Ara looked frantic and she ran in circles as if confused and out of her mind. Then she darted to the door and started pulling at the door knob.
A soft laugh left Lucy’s lips and she shook her head. Why was she this anxious? And that traitor, Jonah. How could he think of giving Ara out?
“Young, Miss.” Ara halted and spun back as if she finally recalled something, then slapped forehead.” Would you like me to bring you your dinner or are you willing to come downstairs and join Master and Madam?”
Was that what had brought her in the first place? Lucy wondered. She must have come to ask her about the food.
“No. Bring it here, Ara,” she replied to the frantic girl and Ara gave a quick nod before she turned back to knocking on the door.
“Urgh, Jonah. If you don’t open this door, I’ll make sure you starve for thirty days,” Ara called out in exasperation as the guy didn’t make any attemt in letting her out.
“Jonah!?” She called out again after a few seconds.
