Chapter 95: Special Thing

Because he couldn’t quite recall where he had heard that ridiculous thing about letting the one you love go. How did they put the phrase—’ Letting them go because you love them and are contented as long as they are happy and whatever.’ The words were as ridiculous as the meaning behind them.

If he loved her, wasn’t he the one in the best position to make her happy? And not some scumbag that was only going to use her.

“Hell, no!” Greg shook his head and denied it instantly. “I care, but not to that extent.” He gave his brother a look of disbelief. “It’s just— Damnit, I don’t want to have anything to do with her. I think its better that things ended up like this.” He sighed. “She’s dangerous— for me. I have to admit that. I’m not even sure if I can keep my sanity with her around.”

“Why?” George frowned. Because he didn’t see why his brother should control himself around her.

“I don’t know.” Greg shook his head, looking helpless. “It just doesn’t feel right. She’s too naïve, I can’t take it. And every time, it’ll only seem as if I’m taking advantage of her.”

“Damn. That is a mess.” George also shook his head and he clicked his tongue.

If that was the problem, then even he was appalled. He could see what danger his brother was referring to. They only went after willing women. Women who would throw themselves at the sight of money.

She was too innocent for that. He had suspected that from their first encounter. She was literally shaken, when her relatives walked in on them at the wedding.

In fact, both girls were shaken. But compared to her, the celebrity was more vulgar and carefree.

And George didn’t even know if he should laugh at this moment. How unfortunate could his brother get? He not only fell for a woman that was a stark contrast to his normal taste, he also had to deal with his sanity around her.

No wonder he looked so miserable. No man could exercise that kind of control, not when she was a walking temptation.

He couldn’t believe those kind of women still existed. He wasn’t surprised that bastard counted himself lucky. He should be in seventh heavens to win such a price. Because her types were the main targets of his kinds.

An innocent wife that only knew how to nod her head. That jerk had definitely hit the jackpot.

He took another look at his brother who had gone back to eating and was acting without a care again. And he had a doubt. If he could forget her just like that. But maybe, it wasn’t impossible. If he could forget her and things went back to normal, that should be great for everyone.

He would have his life back and things would turn back to the way they had always been. Maybe he needed those wine’s.

Speaking on the wines, he slapped his palm on the desk to get the guys attention.

“You weren’t hiding those wine’s from me were you?” He gave him a pointed look.

Greg rolled his eyes and scoffed.

“Tell me where you’re hiding the rest,” George pressed on.

“I’ll have to let you down, Dude.” Greg gave him a leveled stare.

“I know you would.” George chuckled. “Otherwise, why would you hide something that important.”

“You can take one,” Greg shrugged his shoulder and finished his food.

“No.” George shook his head. “I want to have half of it.”

Silence hung in the air and George drummed his fingers on the table with his eyes fixed on his brother’s expression, wherever he got that wine from didn’t matter. If there were thousands of them, he didn’t see why he shouldn’t have some. Afterall, he had found his own cellar emptied some months ago.

Just a short trip to the stadium and his brother didn’t waste time to give out his expensive beers. Something about a reward for some baits.

“You can’t have it.” Greg gave him a careless look. “I’m keeping it for something special.”

“And what is that special thing?” George wriggled his brows. “Is it something about inviting the top models for a birthday party?”

His brother went silent for a while. And George wondered. No, he hoped. He hoped that his brother would waste no time in going back to his normal ways. This way, at least he wouldn’t be lonely. He wouldn’t be left alone to deal with their parents pestering.

If the couple found out one of them was serious about a girl, then the other one was going to get into trouble. One would marry the girl he loved, and the other person would be forced into an arranged marriage. He didn’t see why the date had to be the same. That was absurd.

“Not a birthday,” Greg answered and gave him a pointed look, as if daring him to inquire further.

“Oh, come on, Dude—” George laughed and when he received another glare, he made a gesture of zipping his mouth.

“Alright, then.” He gave in. “I’ll have one. Hope it’s a full one.”

“The bottle is full,” Greg answered him.

George gave him a nod and glanced at his wristwatch. Well— he was already late for work. He didn’t see any reason why he should step in the company today. He’d rather spent his time at home, enjoying a bottle of the wines.

Maybe he could get the celebrity to come join the fun.

“Take it easy, Bro.” He stood up and slapped his brother on the shoulder. “I’m sure you’ll do just fine. Give it sometime,” he advised. “If things doesn’t change, we’ll find other solutions.”

“I’ll be fine,” Greg said in a hard tone, stopping him from continuing with his words.

“There’s no doubt,” George agreed. “It’s a great idea to teach him a lesson though. It would feel good to get some vengeance.”
