Chapter 96: Whirlwind of Chaos

Despite saying that, George already anticipated his brother’s answer. They wouldn’t deal with the jerk. He was going to get away this time, again. He had always been a cheating dork. And the last game they played on the bet, they both knew he cheated. And now, he had the gut to take back his brother’s woman, despite knowing that he had an interest in her. He was seeking death.

“We don’t have any business with that.” Greg waived him off and held his head.

Damn! Those wines must have caused him headache. Now, George couldn’t wait to get another taste of it.

“You’re being too soft, Dude.” George clicked his tongue.

They should go ahead and punish him, at least for their own pleasure. If only his brother would give the go-ahead. Despite having a strong family backing him up, it would be a piece of cake to have him make a fool of himself.

“Let’s not bother with him.” Greg shook his head. “He’s no longer our concern.”

“Whatever you say.” George held up his hands and said. ‘Urgh’ he still have his doubts if his brother wasn’t really doing this because of the princess.

Was he even going to let her go just as he had promised? Hopefully, he would. This situation was like a whirlwind of chaos.

It was the thing that led them to having to deal with the heavy workload in the first place. And more problems kept digging up. Maybe be letting things go for the first time was the best solution.

“I suddenly feel like playing that game,” he said. “Tell me you have extra consoles.”

“Yep.” Greg gave him a nod and shook his head with a chuckle.

“Then, don’t let me emerge the winner. I’m not gonna go easy. And I might ask for something big as a price. Maybe…” George trailed off and tapped his chin. “Half of the wines will do.”

A video game would do at the moment. Who knew if his brother would go back to drinking after he left? The celebrity could wait. She might even give him a hard time, bringing her here. He’d rather stay back and make sure that at least, his brother did not finish those wines before that special event came.

Greg pushed his chair back and picked the breakfast tray along with the soup bowl to the kitchen.

Maybe a video game would suffice. Even the wine was no use. It couldn’t distract him. It was infact like a liquid that induced hallucinations. All he could see was her face. And all he could hear was her voice. It was everywhere. While he was asleep and even when he was awake. He had to go through the night with that torture.

And the worst thing was he couldn’t bring himself to stop drinking. He knew those wines were good, but he never expected them to be so perfect.

And now that his brother knew of its whereabouts, he had to increase its securities. He laughed at the irony as he tried washing the plates.

Damn! He should leave the poor plates alone and let the cleaning lady come do her job.

However, he had found himself taking his phone last night and dismissing her not to come today. That was before he drowned himself in the wine. He hadn’t wanted anyone to see him in this state.

Who knew his brother would walk in on him?

It was a good thing though, otherwise, he might have still been laying on the couch and dreaming that she had returned and speaking with him.

His grip tightened on the plate until his knuckles turned bright. How could she have this effect on him?

The hell! He was afraid he was going to lose his sanity. But had he not lost it already?

He was never this way. He had never dreamt of finding himself in this state. And as much as he didn’t care about any stupid rule and was tempted to go out there and drag her back, even to the point of having thoughts about getting rid of that bastard, he knew he shouldn’t.

It was only for his own good. If he did that, he wasn’t sure he was not going to hurt her. And the worse that might happen. The worse would be her hating him in return.

He had promised himself not to look for her anymore. It was for his own piece as well as her wellbeing.

Someone needed a greater sense of control in order to keep their shoes on in her presence. He wasn’t wrong when he said he had no control. He even applauded himself for spending that little time with her without doing anything. Maybe it was all in his head, but the sight of her, and her presence, he wished his brother’s words would turn out true. He had to forget. As soon as he could.

It wasn’t healthy. He shouldn’t be here licking his wounds while she was out there celebrating. He wouldn’t let her have that much control over him. And if they should happen to meet someday, things were going to get normal.

After managing to wash the plates, Greg cleaned his hands and sauntered out of the kitchen to the living room.

His brother was seated relaxed on the couch, facing the huge plasma screen with one game console in his hands.

He had already brought the gaming tools out and set them up.

And Greg wondered. How did he find them so easily? He couldn’t remember telling him where he had hidden them.

Now he was at a risk of losing another set of his game consoles.

His eyes went to the floor. No more bottles of wines. His brother had cleared away the empty bottles. And the bottles that remained—

“I said you can only have one,” Greg narrowed his eyes at the sight of the three bottles sitting beside his brother.

“Come on, Dude.” George chortled. “I’m sure you have a gazillion of them in wherever you hid them. Just this small number won’t hurt?”
