The President's Daring Wife
Chapter 20: Like A Seductress Straight Out Of An Erotic Movie
Chapter 22
Eve paced in the living room the next day. Damn that Ethan! After ignoring her, he actually woke up in the middle of the night, chatting with another woman.
“Madam, why do you look agitated? Are you alright?” Elena appeared from the kitchen area.
“Sure, Elena.” Eve forced a smile and sat down.
She couldn’t just tell the Stewardess that her first attempt at seducing Ethan was a failure, and there was a high chance that Ethan was seeing another woman. The poor woman would feel more miserable than she was.
“Alright, Madam. Lunch is almost ready.”
“Oh, okay–” Eve nodded absentmindedly, sinking into her thoughts.
If it was true that Ethan was seeing another woman, was that why he never bothered about touching her? But Eve could not recall seeing Ethan with another woman in her past life. Or was it because she hadn’t paid him much attention?
Urgh! What was she thinking?
Whoever that Jessie was, she mustn’t be far away. The only place Ethan went to on a daily basis was his company. Was she one of his employees?
Eve couldn’t wait to find out.
She stood up and walked to the kitchen.
“Elena, can you please package Ethan’s lunch?”
“But Young Master is not home, Madam. He usually eats his lunch at the company.”
“I know, Elena. That’s why I want you to package his food. I want to pay him a visit at the company.” Eve flashed her a smile.
“Oh, that’s so thoughtful of you, Madam. I’m very sure Young Master will be thrilled.”
And Eve would be thrilled to know who that Jessie was.
“Fortunately, the food is done. Let me package it for you. You might want to change into something less revealing, Madam,” Elena instructed.
Eve looked down at the dress she wore today. It was among the ones they bought at the mall. Elena had advised her to only wear it when Ethan was present, but now she felt stupid.
Eve changed into something more comfortable. A pair of trousers and a blouse weren’t a bad option. She complimented them with six inches heels and a short handbag. Then she applied makeup and put on her sunglasses.
“You look great, Madam!” Elena complimented. “Now I regret questioning your fashion sense. All you needed was the right mindset.”
“Thank you, Elena.” Eve smiled and took Ethan’s food box from her. “Right, Elena. Have you sent me the app? I need to book a taxi.”
“Sure. Here’s your new phone, Madam.” Elena brought the phone out of her apron’s pocket and gave it to her.
Eve bid her goodbye and left the house.
It didn’t take her long to get a taxi. After waiting for a few minutes, the taxi arrived and she told him Ethan’s company address.
After several minutes, they finally arrived at the heart of the city where the skyscraper stood. Eve paid the taxi driver and headed inside the company.
“Good morning, Ma’am. How may I help you?” The receptionist greeted her.
Eve removed her sunglasses and said, “I’m here to see my husband. Where is the President’s office?”
The receptionist’s eyes widened and she exchanged glances with her colleagues.
“Y–You’re Mr. Anderson’s wife?” She stammered.
“Yep.” Eve smiled.
The lady brought out her phone and her eyes darted between the screen and Elena’s face. Her colleagues also did the same, and Eve wondered what they were staring at.
“Th–They look similar.”
“I think she’s the one.”
“Oh, my God! It’s Mr. Anderson’s wife!”
Eve frowned and glanced at the lady’s phone screen. She wasn’t even surprised to see her picture on it. At the antique store that day, most people present had recorded the drama and must have uploaded it on the internet. Otherwise, why would Ethan’s grandfather get wind of it?
“M–Mrs. Anderson, this way please.” The receptionist made a quick phone call and stood up. “Please allow me to lead you to the President’s area. His office is on the top floor.”
“Sure.” Eve put on her sunglasses while the employees stared at her in awe. She followed the lady into the nearby elevator and brought out her phone to scroll through her contact list.
She had asked Elena to retrieve her sim card and insert it then throw the phone Cole brought to her away. However, it must be that Elena had forgotten to remove the sim card.
But after scrolling and making sure her contacts were intact, Eve realized that Elena had in fact done what she said.
She looked for Mia and Cole’s numbers, then blocked and discarded them.
“Ahem… Ehm, Ma’am.” The receptionist cleared her throat.
Eve looked up and urged her to go on. “Rumor has it that Mr. Anderson and his wife don’t get along, that is why he has never brought her out to the public. But after seeing the video of Mr. Anderson standing up for you, I doubt if the rumors are true. Uhm… Could it be that Mrs. Anderson is someone that doesn’t like public events?”
“What is your name?” Eve smiled at the lady.
“My name is Cecile, Ma’am.”
“Well, Cecile. Listening to rumors can land one in trouble. And you know what else can bring you more trouble? Snooping around.”
“Oh, Please forgive my mistake, Ma’am. I am so sorry for poking my nose into your business.”
“No problem.” Eve shrugged.
The elevator dinged open, and Cecile bid her goodbye.
Eve’s eyes surveyed the President’s area. ‘Not bad.’ It was even better than the one in her biological father’s company.
She headed straight to where she made out to be Ethan’s office. All the employees stared at her, some with small frowns on their faces, and most with eyes wide with shock.
Eve stopped at the door and knocked. Voices came from inside; indistinct voices. Was Ethan having a meeting?
She was about to push the door open, but the doorknob turned and someone pulled it from the inside.
Then a slender figure stepped out. The first thing Eve noticed about her was her long red heels, followed by her skimpy red skirt, then a red suit blouse that exposed her cleavage.
“How may I help you?” said the lady. Her lips were painted deep red, and her artificial lashes fluttered.
“You’re standing in my way.” Eve didn’t like the aura she was giving up. She looked like a seductress straight out of an erotic movie.
