Chapter 63: Seduce The President

In the dimly lit room, Eve couldn’t make out his expression. But he stepped aside moments later, and she strode past him after throwing him another glare.

Eve stormed out of the office and dropped onto her swivel chair, fanning herself with both hands. She took a bottle of water out of her bag and gulped it all down.

Tiny whispers came from her left and she glanced sideways at the employees who quickly averted their gazes.

Eve let out another groan then brought out her phone. Just on cue, the screen lit up with an alert message and she gritted her teeth.

“Stop sending me money for goodness sake!” Eve stormed into the office, Ethan was now in his chair.

He looked up from his phone and raised a brow. “You’re still unhappy.”

“Who told you I’m unhappy?” Eve strode forward and dropped both hands on her waist. “I’m just furious and disappointed. Ethan, please stop sending me money!”

“That is your salary for this month,” Ethan said calmly.

“I thought that should be handled by the finance department. Do you think I’m a baby? Which secretary in this world receives such a huge amount of money as salary?”

Ethan rubbed his forehead and gave her a helpless look. “Eve–”

“Just call me Evelyn. Isn’t that what you always call me when you’re displeased with me? Why don’t you call me that now?”

“It’s almost lunchtime. Do you want to go out and eat?” Ethan stood up and shoved both hands into his pockets.

“No thanks.” Eve folded her hands and looked away. “I am only your secretary, Mr. Anderson, I don’t deserve such treatment.”

“You’re my wife, Eve.”

“Whatever.” Eve turned around to leave the office. “If you don’t want me to file a lawsuit against you, stop harassing me at work, Mr. Anderson.”

“When did I harass you?”

“You trapped me in your private suite. That should be considered as harassment.”

Someone pushed the door open from the outside and high-heeled shoes appeared.

“What is she doing here?” Eve glanced back and glared at the man. “Oh, why do I even care?”

She loosened up her hands and headed for the door, walking past Jessie who had just walked in.

“Hi, Mrs. Anderson.”

Eve ignored her and left the office. She sat in her cubicle then breathed out a sigh. This stupid stubborn man.

No matter what she did, that Jessica would not stop coming, because he’d keep calling her. And she didn’t even dare be close to other men.

Eve glanced at her wristwatch. There were still twenty minutes left before lunch break. She might as well be there early.

Standing up, she gathered her things into her bag and flung it over her shoulder. She was about to head out of her cubicle when the slender figure approached.

“Tsk tsk tsk, Mrs. Anderson, you look so pitiful. Having another fight with your husband?” Jessie stopped in front of her and smiled. “I knew that eventually, the president would kick you out of his office. But I didn’t expect that to happen soon.”

“Get out of my way.”

“Why are you in such a hurry to leave?” Jessie faked a concerned look. “Come on, Mrs. Anderson. Isn’t your job fending off other women? Who knows what will happen if you leave him now and go home?”

“Jessica.” Eve took in a deep breath. “You know what happens to people that get on my bad side?”

“Hmph, the empty threats again.” Jessie folded her hands and rolled her eyes. “Please stop filling my ears with bullshit, Mrs. Anderson.”

“Bullshit, huh?” Eve grabbed her hand and her fist connected with the girl’s nose. “I would have ignored you, Jessica, but you just happen to bump into me on a bad day.”

“Ahhhhh!” Jessie screamed and held her nose. “You, Mrs. Anderson… You.” Her nose bled and she looked from Eve to her bloodied palm.

“What is happening here?” Ethan came out of his office with a big frown. “Jessie, what happened to your nose?”

“It’s– It’s Mrs. Anderson, Sir.” Jessie cried and pointed at Eve. “She bullied me, Sir. And she told me mean words.”

“Eve.” Ethan looked tired. “What is the meaning of this?”

Eve folded her hands. She glanced across the two people then rolled her eyes and turned around.

“Come back here, Eve.” Ethan’s voice faded behind her as she walked toward the elevator.

Eve stood inside the elevator and checked out her hand. Her knuckles ached a bit. Did that Jessica have plastic for nose or what?

She brought out a makeup palette to retouch her makeup. After rubbing on the lipstick, the elevator dinged open and she headed to the cafeteria and grabbed some food before leaving the company.

Eve rounded the skyscraper and the coffee shop soon came into sight. Unlike the last time, it was more crowded.

Several employees sat across the desks, some didn’t even get a chair and were all standing.

“You’re late again, Mira.” Amanda walked forward. “But not too late, since as you can see, everyone is here already, and no one has left yet.”

Eve groaned inside. If it wasn’t for that Jessica, she would be here ten minutes earlier.

“We don’t have much time, Amanda. Give her the assignment,” Mr. Alan said.

“But we promised her a proper introduction last time.” Amanda smiled. “So, everyone. Please let’s welcome our newest member, Mira. She’s the president’s new secretary.”

The people clapped and Eve nodded at them, forcing a smile.

“Amanda, you seem to be in a hurry.” Eve looked between the woman and Mr. Alan. Mr. Clinton Wasn’t present.

“Yes, Mira. All the managers have an important meeting with the president later. We all must hand in our departments’ reports. Mr. Clinton is just busy putting his together.”

“So today’s meeting will end early after we give you your assignment,” Mr. Alan added.

“Oh.” Eve nodded in realization, glancing at other employees who were also nodding. “So what’s my assignment?”

“Your assignment is…” Amanda held out her hand and an employee placed a document folder as well as a mini chip on her hand. “You will sneak this folder among his files just like the last time, and you’re going to plant this chip under his desk.”

“What are they for?” Eve took the document folder and chip from the lady’s hand, her brows furrowing.

“This chip is a sound recorder. With it, we can listen to every important conversation the president has. And this document folder contains a fake record of the company’s ideas. To put it simply, these are ideas extracted from other companies.”

“Huh?” Eve stared at the document folder. “But if our company implements these ideas, isn’t it going to attract a lawsuit? Amanda, I thought we were only embezzling funds from the company. This approach can bring down this company altogether.”

“Poor Mira.” Amanda chuckled. “There are a lot of things you don’t know about this club.”

“Please enlighten me.”

“That can wait for another time. We’re in a hurry today.” Amanda shook her head. “Just do as you’re told first.”

“But—”

“And your other assignment.” Amanda cut her off and stepped closer. “This is the most important of all. I want you to seduce the president, Mira. Can you do it?”
