Chapter 92: This Family Isn’t Complete

“Grandpa.” Eve rushed toward the man from where she was standing beside Ethan. “W–What kind of trouble? Did I do anything wrong?”

Eve hadn’t caused any trouble recently. At least, not one she could remember.

“You Silly girl.” The old man grabbed her hand. “I was waiting to get a hold of you. Don’t you know that what you did is dangerous? You took it upon yourself to investigate those bad employees. You could get caught and they could harm you.”

“Unhand my granddaughter, Old man.” Eve’s grandfather arrived and pulled her aside. “You should thank her for doing that for your family. My granddaughter is capable enough to carry out such a brave act. While your grandson–”

“Don’t you dare speak anything bad about my grandson!” Ethan’s grandfather boomed.

“Ah, Ethan, please help.” Eve hurried to Ethan who was approaching. “I think they’re about to break into a fight.”

“Grandpa, don’t bully her. Eve did a good thing.” Ethan stood between the two men.

“Don’t tell me what to do, Grandson. Seems like you’re taking their sides.”

“He must take our sides otherwise I won’t hesitate to take my granddaughter away from him.” Eve’s grandfather scoffed. “Evelyn, this old man is not grateful. Do you think it is right to stay in his family?”

“Grandpa, please stop fighting. We’re all here to party,” one of the twins said.

“You don’t know anything, Little girl.” The old man shut her up. “And I will make sure I do a very good background check before I marry you off. I won’t let you marry into a troublesome family, understand?”

“Argh! Grandpa! He’s calling our family a troublesome family!” Matt came out of nowhere and stood beside the old man. “If we don’t show them who the real troublesome family is today, we won’t live up to our reputation as the most reputable family in this city.”

“Reputable family my feet.” Eve’s father butted in. “All you do is bully my daughter and make her fall into trouble.”

“Don’t talk to my Grandpa like that, Old Man.”

“I’m not talking to your grandfather, I’m talking to you, Little boy. How dare you call me an old man?”

“Argh! Just because you’re Sister-in-law’s father doesn’t mean I’ll cut you some slack. In what way does this Young Master look like a little boy?”

“Everyone, please silence!” Eve covered her ears and screamed.

“Watch your tone, Matt.” Ethan glowered at the guy.

The noises died down and both families glared at one another, each fuming with rage.

“Don’t you know why I called you all here?” Eve said tiredly.

“Isn’t it to tell us that you will finally divorce your husband?” Her grandfather asked. “We can see you have put up decorations. Good job, Evelyn. This is how I want you to divorce this family. We will drink wine and celebrate.”

“Let’s see how you’re going to celebrate!” Ethan’s grandfather pointed his cane. “We will kick you all out and no one is going to get any compensation, including your granddaughter.”

“Urgh, come on, Everyone!” Eve whined. “No one is going to be kicked out, and Grandpa, I didn’t invite you here to celebrate my divorce, we’re celebrating because I’m having babies!” She cried out.

Everyone stared at her with mouths open.

“S–Sister-in-law, you’re having babies?” Matt was the first person to react.

“Evelyn, are you not pulling our legs just like the last time?” Her grandfather gave her a pointed look.

“Of course not, Grandpa,” Eve whined again. “Ethan and I are having babies. We wanted to surprise you for real this time. We have already confirmed it at the hospital.”

“How can we be sure you’re telling the truth?” Ethan’s grandfather frowned.

“She’s not lying, Grandpa. Eve is pregnant with two babies,” Ethan replied.

“Two babies!?” The whole family exclaimed.

“Wow, Big Sis. You’re so amazing. You’re carrying two babies? I wonder if it will be boys.”

“I think it’s gonna be girls. Brother-in-law is so handsome, I wonder if the babies will take after him.”

The twins giggled and they both embraced her and Eve’s eyes strayed to her mother who was silently standing in a corner. Her mother looked away and she sighed.

“Evelyn, you’re pregnant for real this time?” Her father came forward and hugged her. “This is too good to be true. And it’s even two babies, isn’t it a double celebration?”

“Yes, it is.” Eve chuckled and pulled away. “I guess Cassie and Carla showered their blessings on me.”

“You’re right, Big Sis.”

“You should thank Mum. She’s twins. Our grandmother is a twin. And our great-grandmother is also twins.”

“What are you all saying?” Ethan’s grandfather butted in. “I think she got it from my family. If Matt’s sister hadn’t passed away, I’ll also have twins in my home.”

“Tell them, Grandpa. Sister-in-law should be grateful to this Young Master!”

“Come here, Evelyn.” Her grandfather hugged her. “It seems you’re all telling the truth this time. This Old Man is more than happy. And because of that, we will no longer speak of the divorce.”

“Ah, that’s a relief, Grandpa. Ethan and I are bound to be together, forever. Aren’t I right, Honey?” She pulled away and held Ethan’s hand.

“You’re right.” Ethan smiled.

“Well, you stood by your promise, Evelyn.” Ethan’s grandfather laughed and pulled her into his embrace. “And for that, this Old Man will no longer trouble you. Tell me whatever you want. I happen to have an island behind the country, I’m going to transfer the ownership to you.”

“That’s too much, Grandpa.”

“It’s nothing compared to the joy you give this family.” He pulled away and looked at her. “The island is just the beginning. I’ll give you more gifts once you give birth to my great-grandchildren.”

“It’s not much, Eve. Just take it.” Ethan nudged her.

“In that case, I’m so grateful, Grandpa. I’ve always wanted to spend some time on an island. Maybe we can visit there while I can still fly, Honey.” She turned to Ethan and he nodded.

“Grandpa, what island are you talking about?” Matt’s jaws dropped. “Didn’t you promise to gift it to this Young Master on his twenty-fifth birthday?”

“Shut up, Matt! I’ll get you another one.”

“Argh, that’s not fair, Grandpa. This Young Master prefers that island. I have even bragged about it online.”

“Get out of my sight.” The old man chased him away with his cane.

“Don’t worry, Matt.” Eve pulled him aside. “I might consider swapping the islands in the future.”

“Are you serious, Sister-in-law?” Matt stared at her in surprise.

“Of course, but unless you promise to focus on your studies and ace your exams.”

“This Young Master won’t torture himself to death. Studies can go to hell, I want the fun in life!” Matt grumbled and walked away.

And Eve folded her hands and shook her head. “Come on, everyone. The food is getting cold. Let’s all eat and celebrate! Someone, give us some music!”

Everyone took a chair and began feasting, and Eve sat beside Ethan while he served her food on a plate.

Suddenly, a loud voice came from the gates, dragging everyone’s attention.

“What a cheerful celebration! But why do I have a feeling that this family isn’t complete!?”
