Chapter 93: The First Young Master

Eve’s lips parted and her eyes widened. She jerked up to her feet and stood behind Ethan who had already stood up.

“It seems you’re all having a good time. How sad, this is all for show, right? If this was a complete family get-together, you would have thought of inviting me.”

“What are you doing here?” Ethan said darkly.

“Quick, call the police, Ethan. Tell them to come and get him,” Eve said frantically, her eyes darting between both men.

“Ouch, that’s heartbreaking.” Wade placed a hand on his chest, putting on a pained look. “Aren’t you happy to see me, Eve?”

“The hell I’m happy to see you.” Eve glared at him. “How brave of you, Mr. Hudson, what brought you here? Is it to cause trouble? Unfortunately, your meaningless words won’t affect any of us.”

Eve had almost forgotten about the idiot. He just had to appear at her happiest of moments.

“Who is this boy, Evelyn?” Her grandfather asked.

“I can recall seeing him that night at the party.” Ethan’s grandfather frowned. “Tell me, Grandson, is he causing you any trouble?”

“I am glad you have good eyesight, Grandfather.” Wade turned to the old man. “But I’d be surprised if you don’t recognize me… After all, blood is thicker than water.”

“What are you trying to say, Little Boy? Don’t you dare make any fuss in this place.”

“I’m so much disappointed, Grandfather.” Wade pulled out a chair and sat down, propping his leg atop the other. “I am sure you won’t be cowards to call the police or send me out. Unless my presence intimidates you.”

“What do you want?” Ethan glared at him.

“I could say my family. But who cares about that?” Wade twitched his lips and scoffed. “What I am here for is what rightfully belongs to me.”

“Mr. Hudson, you’re speaking in riddles. I advise you to go back to that Asylum if you don’t want any trouble.”

“You are too difficult, Eve. Maybe deciding to love you isn’t the best thing for me. When I was given this second chance, I shouldn’t have deterred from my mission. I should have followed the same path I did before even if it means I’d regret it later.”

“What is he talking about, Evelyn?” Eve’s father stared at her in confusion.

Eve furrowed her brows at the guy. She always had a feeling that despite his claims, the idiot was just trying to use her. No one in his right mind would think of chasing after a married woman.

“If I didn’t give up on you because of your stubbornness, Evelyn, I would give up on you because of what you have done to me.”

“Mr. Hudson, don’t you blink even as you lie? Are you so crooked to point accusations at me? I can remember you causing me trouble and not the other way round.”

“Sure, I caused you trouble. But it isn’t up to a speck of what you have caused me, Evelyn. You destroyed my plans. You exposed those foolish employees, now how am I going to fulfill my mission?”

“Huh?”

“The Ambitious Employees Club.” Wade stared straight at her. “I owned that Club because I formed it. Didn’t you ever wonder who those people were working for?”

Eve’s heart dropped and she sank into her chair. “You…”

So he wasn’t just making things up. When he talked about his rebirth and his second chance… When he talked about his mission and how she was part of it…

“I’m not your main target, right, Mr. Hudson? So you are the bigger fish.”

“You’re too smart for your age.” Wade chuckled. “That’s right. They were all working in my favor. We almost reached our goal, Evelyn. There was just a little time left, but you stepped in and mess everything up. I should have kept a strict eye on the club and its members. If I knew you joined them, you’d get what was coming to you.”

“Ethan, please call the police, quick.” Eve sprang up and tugged at Ethan’s arm. “We can’t waste any second. Just have him arrested.”

Then maybe her fears wouldn’t come true. It had been him all this time. He was the mastermind behind Ethan’s company’s collapse in her past life. So his main mission was bringing Ethan down. Then that meant he was the one that planned for Ethan’s accident. Then he bailed her from jail and drowned her.

“This man is dangerous, Ethan. Our biggest enemy is sitting right in front of us. Please don’t let him go away!”

“Tsk tsk tsk.” Wade clicked his tongue, smiling. “Did you think I came here to reveal my mission and after that, you can call the police to arrest me?” He shook his head. “This is too cliched. I know you are smarter than this to listen to what brought me here. Otherwise, you’re all cowards and you’re afraid of me.”

“Just shut up! This Young Master can’t take it anymore!” Matt stood up and yelled. “Who is this crazy guy, Big Bro? Why is he here? I won’t hesitate to beat you to a pulp if you cause any trouble.”

“And who are you?” Wade raised a brow. “Oh, I remember.” His expression brightened. “Isn’t this the second Young Master of the Anderson family? Or should I say the third Young Master?”

“What are you saying!? This Young Master is the second Young Master and the whole world knows it!”

“Really?” Wade rose to his feet. “Maybe the whole world does. The whole world except your grandfather.”

“Grandpa, what is happening?”

“Little Boy.” The old man narrowed her eyes. “What are you implying?”

“You shouldn’t have forgotten that easily.” Wade faced him. “After all, it is a history which you worked well to keep a secret. And since you want to play the surprise game, be my guest.”

Everyone stared at him and Eve held Ethan’s hand. “Mr. Hudson—”

“I am not speaking in riddles if that is your question.” Wade glanced at her. “This Villa and everything in it, every fortune that this family has ever gathered rightfully belongs to me. Grandfather, tell them, am I wrong? After all, I am the right one to manage it, because I am the first Young Master of this family.”

“What!?” A gasp spread across the table.

“What is this lunatic talking about? Isn’t Big Bro the first Young Master, Grandpa?”

“You all wish.” Wade chuckled. “He had my father first before your father. I am even a few years older than your brother. Old man.” He glanced at the man. “You thought you could just do away with one family and keep the other. I must tell you that it isn’t the way things work.”

Eve covered her mouth and stared at Ethan. So this was the reason behind Wade’s actions. Why were things getting more complicated?

“Don’t worry, Grandfather. I didn’t return so you can acknowledge me. I am here to take what is rightfully mine, because I won’t also associate with a cheating family.”

“And you.” He turned to Eve and Ethan. “You thought you have won this battle. If I could bring you down before, then I can repeat it with ease. I didn’t run out of ideas, but as it turned out, I should use a different tactic this time. After all, things have changed.”

As the man turned around and walked out of the gates, everyone’s eyes followed his back, eyes wide with shock.

Silence and awkwardness hung in the atmosphere after he left. Ethan and Matt stared at their grandfather in confusion, while the old man hung his head. And the other family gave each other questioning looks.

“Erhm, Hehe.” Eve’s father stood up and coughed, laughing nervously. “This is an event to celebrate my daughter’s achievement, right? Why don’t we all dig in before the food goes to waste?”

“You’re right, Son.” Her grandfather nodded. “Everyone, forget the momentary interruption, and let’s celebrate.”

Eve pulled Ethan down with her and they sat back on their chairs while everyone else also took their seats.

“Let’s all make a toast! Congratulations to my amazing grandchild and the whole family!”

“Ethan, let’s make a toast,” Eve whispered and nudged at the silent man. “Matt, come on, I’m sure this Young Master won’t resist a fine wine.”

“You’re going to hell, Evelyn!” A deafening scream came from the gates. “If I don’t kill you today, I’m not going to rest in peace.”

“What now!?” Eve sprang up and the glass cup fell from her hand and shattered on the ground.
