Chapter 102 Have It Coming

His mistress.

Cora again?

The sound of her name had Clyde's irritation acting up.

Did Cora have something to do with her sadness?

What trick was she up to again?

Violet looked disoriented as she rained down insults on him.

Clyde was too shocked to react to her hitting him constantly on the chest.

But he feared that her screams would wake everyone up, especially Mimi.

So he picked her up and entered his bedroom.

“Hey, let me go! Get your filthy hands off me!!!” She kept on hitting him even as he put her down.

Her tears flowed like a dam and her shoulders trembled.

Violet stared at him furiously, balling her fists and ready to attack him once more. “Clyde Crawford, are you crazy or what-”

He kissed her before she screamed again.

Amidst the confusion in his heart, Clyde tried his best to calm her down.

Yet, he had underestimated her strength. She pushed him away and he landed on the bed.

Instead of running out of the room as he expected, Violet suddenly pounced on him, strangling him.

“You're no different from him! Mimi doesn't deserve a father like you! You don't deserve to be by her side. Since you won't leave us alone, how about we go down together!?”

Damnit!

She wasn't thinking about murdering him, was she?

Clyde never knew that she had a mental illness.

He couldn't deny that this scary side of her disturbed him.

First, she accused him of messing around with Cora, and now she wanted to kill him! What exactly happened?

“She's still waiting downstairs! She probably isn't satisfied enough. Why don't you leave me alone and go join her!?”

How could he leave when she was here strangling him?

Her words were disoriented.

She could harm herself if not him.

Clyde finally seized her movements by grabbing both her hands and flipping her over.

He breathed heavily, staring into her reddened eyes. “Violet, I'm sorry. But if you don't calm down, there's no way I'll understand why you're angry-”

“You-”

She glared at him and he used the opportunity to kiss her.

Clyde hated that he was resorting to this trick.

He hoped they could sit down and talk it out rationally.

As her tears kept on falling, he knew he was going to regret this later.

Yet, she finally ceased struggling when he didn't pull away.

He left her lips, trailing kisses down her nape.

Her rapid gasps as she sobbed were instantly replaced by moans.

He never forgot the right ways to touch her.

He never forgot the right actions to instantly make her melt under him.

But Clyde couldn't go on any longer, otherwise, Violet would hate him more than he anticipated after this was over.

He rolled off her body and rested beside her, hugging her close.

The silence was peaceful and yet filled with heavy tension.

He gently stroked her hair, listening to her soft breathing.

“How could you?” Her voice was soft and weak with a lingering desire in it. “Isn't Cora enough? Why do you love torturing me?”

Clyde just listened.

He was too embarrassed to say anything.

He shouldn't have taken advantage of her, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

What other way could he calm her down?

“I wish we never met. I wish I never loved you.”

His heart bled, for her words were like needles pricking at its flesh.

“I love you though. That will never change,” he replied.

Even if she stopped loving him, it would never change his heart. “I'm sorry for what I did just now.”

She stared at him as if he was the biggest liar in the world.

“Are you also sorry for messing around with your mistress just now? Are you not going to repeat it?” She smiled bitterly, the sadness in her clear round eyes breaking his heart.

Inside the dark room, her hoarse voice echoed in the silence.

Clyde didn't mess around with Cora. Yet, Violet spoke with conviction.

Was that the source of her sadness?

Did she think that he cheated on her?

His eyes narrowed and a thought came to his mind.

What if…

Damnit!

Clyde got off the bed and stepped out of the bedroom.

The moment he did so, that strange fragrance hit him.

Hell! Why didn't he notice it before?

Wrinkling his nose, he headed down the hallway straight to the bedroom Cora occupied.

This fragrance smelt stronger than he last remembered.

What the hell did she put in it this time?

Reigning in his rage, Clyde kicked the door open.

Cora was sound asleep, barely dressed in anything.

Unable to bear the sight, he tossed the bedsheet at her. “Wake up!” He kicked the bed.

Cora yawned.

She rubbed her eyes and then flashed him a foolish smile. “You're finally here. Tempted enough that you can't wait?”

She sat up, letting the bedsheet fall off her. “Oh, I'm all yours-”

“Shut up!” Clyde grabbed her neck. “Why the hell did you bring that substance into this house?”

“How did you notice?” She gasped.

“Just answer me before I make you regret it.”

And yet, she didn't answer his question.

Cora's smile got bigger and she reached out to touch his arm. “If Violet had strange hallucinations, it's not my fault. She only saw the things she wanted to believe. It means she doesn't trust you, Clyde.”

“How can she trust me when you keep getting in the way?” Clyde let go of her neck before he could lose it and snap it. “This should be the end of your silly tricks. It should be your last time meddling in our life.”

“Hey!”

She yelped as he grabbed her off the bed.

Clyde pulled her out of the room. He didn't stop in the living room or outside the doors.

He dragged her all the way to the gates and tossed her outside. “I won't care about my promise to your brother anymore. Meddle again and you'll have it coming!”
