Chapter 119 Blaming Him
How strange was it that the shock didn't make Violet unconscious.
Maybe it was because she saw it coming and Freya had already told her about Tasha.
But Tasha wouldn't have seen it coming.
The shock of seeing someone so similar to you was definitely unbearable.
Asher rushed her to the hospital, and as they stood outside the emergency room, Violet couldn't contain her sadness.
Her anger was no more. She only now felt regretful.
Maybe they shouldn't have barged in on them that way.
Although Asher’s way of handling things was strange and uncalled for, if they knew something like this would happen, they would have alerted him first before meeting Tasha.
Ever since they arrived at the hospital, Asher looked disoriented.
His eyes were fixed on the emergency room’s door and, now and then, he paced back and forth.
Why did he look so scared and worried?
Is it because of Violet’s appearance?
Or was he afraid something bad had happened to Tasha?
She only fainted, right?
“Cool down, Ash,” Freya broke the silence, uttering the same words in my mind. “I thought she was only unconscious. The nurses can revive her-”
“How!” Asher snapped, startling them both.
When he glanced their way, his eyes were red.
But then, he took a deep breath and calmed down.
“She’s sick. She's just recovering,” Asher explained in a solemn voice. “Undergoing such a shock would impact her health. What if it affects her condition?”
“What do you mean?” Confused, Violet asked.
Asher stared at her as if she already knew what was happening. “I thought your best friend told you everything.”
He emphasized the word ‘best friend,’ throwing Freya a look of disapproval.
It wasn't Violet’s imagination.
Asher was truly mad at them.
“Maybe we should go…” She held Freya’s hand. “When she gets better, we can come back.”
Violet was also afraid that once Tasha woke up, she might experience the same shock again if she saw her.
She didn't want the same thing to repeat.
“The heck we’re going anywhere!” Freya snatched her hand off. “Vi, we will wait here until she wakes up, and Ash is going to tell us what’s happening between him and that lady! Why were they kissing on the rooftop!”
Asher wiped his face in frustration. “Are we going to discuss that now?”
“Why not!” Freya glared at him. “My best friend just witnessed you kissing another lady. What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I was going to explain-”
“Explain what, Ash? Does it make sense that you have to act as her husband? You could lie that she was your relative, sister, or whatever! Unless you already imagine her as Violet, or maybe you never loved my best friend!”
“Freya, stop.” As the argument escalated, Violet tried to douse the situation to no avail.
“So what were you going to explain, Mr. Sydney?” Freya added. “That you couldn't control yourself because you're a man and you couldn't help take advantage of that clueless girl?”
“I didn't take advantage of her!” Asher glared back. “It just happened- a mistake!”
“Oh, does it mean that you haven't slept with her yet?” Freya said in a tone full of mockery. “How many times did you commit the same mistake?”
“Freya! Ash, please quit it, Guys!”
Violet stood in their midst, wishing she could end the argument. But they didn't even appear to notice her.
The argument intensified, and Asher seemed to have lost his cool.
“So what!?” He yelled. “She spends all her time with Clyde Crawford. Don't tell me they don't sleep together! Why am I the only one to be blamed? Does she even value our engagement?”
