Chapter 52 Their Plan

She walked over and took Mimi away from the cunning lady.

The little girl only looked more confused, glancing between her and Cora. “Mummy…”

“Hey, Dear. How about we go down and get something to eat after washing up?” Violet asked.

She wasn't a fool to eat anything offered by Cora.

Seriously, she didn't know what Clyde was thinking.

“But there's food, Mummy…” Mimi pointed towards the large table. “I think Aunt Cora wants us to eat them.”

Violet nodded, smiling at the girl. “But Mummy plans to feed you all your favorites. None of them are here-”

“Mummy, you're amazing!” Mimi's confusion gave way to happiness the moment she heard about her favorite foods.

Convincing her baby was a piece of cake.

Violet couldn't tell her baby outrightly that Cora was a bad person because her foolish father trusted the lady.

Minutes later, Freya emerged from the bathroom wearing a towel. “Great! Food is here and…”

It only took a single glance from Violet for Freya to understand what was happening.

She trailed off, scrunching up her nose at the food instead. “I'd rather eat fast food than eat this. Not healthy at all.”

“Really, Aunt Freya?” Mimi asked as Violet took her to the bathroom.

Freya winked in reply. “Go get ready, Baby… there's a huge restaurant on the first floor. We'll eat there.”

Cora stood by the window, her expression bitter as if she'd just swallowed poisonous.

She could no longer force a smile, so she pretended to be busy with her phone.

Freya waited until Violet took Mimi inside the bathroom.

She eyed Cora from head to toe before approaching her. “If you're one of those ladies who are two-faced, let me warn you-”

“Or, you'll only waste your time.” Cora rolled her eyes, not seeing the need to hide her real intentions. “You must be Violet's friend. She must have told you that I'm Clyde's woman. Well, that's correct.”

“Oh, shit!” Freya cursed under her breath. But she had to act as if she wasn't surprised.

Damnit!

If Violet had told her this before, she wouldn't have spared the lady a small smile.

“Well, watch out.” She clicked her tongue and smiled. “If you try any silly tricks, Young Lady, you won't love the outcome.”

“Oh, you and your filthy friends might be the ones weeping in the end,” Cora snickered.

Then she grabbed her purse and stormed off.

Violet came out to find only Freya inside the suite.

She didn't need to guess what happened.

Freya must have scared that vile lady off.

“You didn't tell me you had such an interesting opponent, Vi…” Freya said from the dresser mirror as she put on makeup. “She's quite something.”

“What did she tell you?” Violet was curious.

Freya and Cora must have gotten into an argument while she was inside the bathroom.

Cora wouldn't have left that easily.

“Oh, she's a bitch! You must be careful.” That was Freya's only response.

Why did Violet need to be careful?

She wasn't interested in Clyde. It wasn't like she would waste her time fighting over the man.

She retrieved a towel from the closet and went back to the bathroom to wrap it around Mimi.

By the time they all got ready, Freya had already called the room service to come pack Cora's food away.

They ate brunch at the restaurant and spent the whole afternoon shopping for clothes inside one of the malls in the hotel.

When evening came and they were getting ready, Cora appeared again.

“The designers are here…” She paused, her eyes dimming at the scene in front of her. “What the hell are you guys wearing?”

Violet ignored her as well as Freya.

It was only Mimi who paid her attention. “Don't I look great, Aunt Cora?”

“Yes you do, Baby…” Cora's smile was stiff. “But you can't meet your Grandparents in a jumpsuit. And you, Violet-”

“Just mind your business.” Freya cut her off. “We're not kids. We can wear whatever we want.”

Cora maintained her smile, taking in a deep breath.

However, it was obvious that she was pissed off.

She waived the designers off and they packed the dresses and jewelry boxes they came with before leaving.

Leaning against the doorframe, Cora glanced at her wristwatch. “Well, it's almost time. The car is ready-”

Violet was gone before she finished speaking.

They knew their way out.

She also knew her way to the family's ancestral mansion.

“Mummy, we can't leave Aunt Cora behind,” Mimi pointed out as they walked into the elevator.

Actually, Violet wanted to shake her off.

She didn't need Cora.

None of them did.

“Are you sure this is the best plan, Vi?” Freya asked her as the elevator went down. “Aren't we dressed too casually?”

If wearing jeans and baggy blouses was too casual, Violet could go for something worse.

She knew what she was doing.

“Remember our mission,” she whispered in Freya's ear so her baby wouldn't hear their conversation. “This is the best way to irritate Clyde's parents.”

Dressed this way, the couple wouldn't want to look at them twice.

In fact, they would be so angry that they couldn't wait to send them back.

Even Clyde’s grandfather wouldn't be pleased.

“But you didn't have to apply lipstick on Mimi. She's too young for that,” Freya whispered back. “Our makeup looks horrible already.”

“Oh, stop complaining, Freya…” Violet sighed. “Do you want me to be stuck here?”

“Nah. I'd prefer you go back to Asher,” Freya responded.

Going back to Asher wasn't gonna be so easy without this plan.

Confident that the plan would work, Violet couldn't wait.

Of course, she wasn't pleased with applying makeup on Mimi. But they needed it if they wanted to execute the plan well.

“Mimi, remember what I told you.”

“Yes, Mummy. Grandma and Grandpa must know that I love you the most and can't be without you.”

This way, if Clyde’s parents chased her away, Mimi would have to come with her.

Violet smiled contentedly while Freya gave her a wary look. “You're really something, Vi. And I thought you'd need my protection.”

“Of course, I do.” Violet winked. “If the bodyguards block us, who will fight them off?”
