Chapter 72 Giving Her A Bath
Their bodies swayed and they were literally falling on each other.
After the taxi driver helped them out of the car, he hurried to the driver's seat and zoomed off.
Clyde couldn't take his eyes off the ladies as they felt very familiar.
When the streetlight flashed on their faces his intuition became right.
Where the hell were they coming from?
“Speak about luck!” Harry smiled. “Isn't that your brave wife, Buddy?”
Clyde hurried in the direction before they could think about crossing the street.
They didn't look alright as they swayed back and forth.
What happened to them, especially Violet, who seemed as if she was dozing off in Freya's arms?
“Hey, that's my heartless husband.” She rubbed her eyes and squinted them at him.
One arm spread across her friend's shoulders, she staggered forward and tumbled into his arms.
Clyde caught her quickly, his heart racing. “Violet…” he patted her cheeks. “Why do you look like this?”
“Huh? Like what?” She hiccuped.
A deep stench of wine hit his nose and Clyde scrunched up his face.
Damnit! They'd been drinking.
“Hey, Mr. Crawford…” She drawled, staring at him through blurry eyes. “Why the hell are you here? Where's my wine? Where's the damned bar!?”
Clyde couldn't believe his ears.
So they went to a bar!
“Ha! Now this is even more interesting!” Harry laughed as he caught the other lady in his arms. “I hate to see beauties in distress. How about we help them inside?”
Clyde didn't like the look on the guy's face.
However, he was more worried about Violet.
Thank goodness the bodyguards didn't find her like this.
If rumors spread that his wife went to a bar and got drunk, wouldn't that affect the family's reputation?
Even worse, what would his grandfather think?
“Stupid man! Let me down!” She screamed as he picked her up.
Clyde had to walk faster to avoid any servants bumping into them.
He took her straight to the bedroom and made sure the door was tightly shut.
“Violet Harris, you really are something!” Clyde didn't know what to say.
He didn't know whether he should be angry or relieved.
Surely, this woman would be the death of him. Why did she keep making trouble?
Violet mumbled something as she buried her head in his chest. “Heartless man, you're a bully. Just let me go!”
She called him all sorts of names.
Clyde wondered how many bottles she'd drunk to be so out of it.
Dropping her on the bed, he undid the buttons of her jacket and then removed it.
“Don't touch me!”
Clyde ignored her protests and he knelt on one knee and removed her shoes.
“Leave me alone, Hey!” Her screams almost pierced his eardrums.
Shutting his eyes, he bottled in his anger and sat beside her.
“Sneaking outside and getting drunk…” He flicked her forehead. “Have you forgotten you're married?”
“Ouch!” Violet pouted, staring at him through hazy eyes.
She rubbed her forehead, her lips trembling.
Wait. Was she about to cry?
“Y- You're a meanie! The most heartless man in existence!” She beat his chest. “How dare you cheat on me!?”
Clyde sighed.
“I didn't cheat, Violet…” He trailed off. The matter was just too complicated.
Instead of protesting, Violet just stared at him as if searching for something on his face.
Then she reached out and stroked his jawline. “Right, you didn't cheat! My hubby's the most handsome man on the earth. He'll never cheat on me.”
Clyde smiled.
How great and peaceful would life be if she stopped doubting and believed him.
“Hey, handsome…” She leaned forward until their foreheads touched. “Are you really my husband?”
Clyde gulped.
She was too close, and her perfume mixed with the wine’s flavor was intoxicating him.
“You're my hubby, aren't you?” She giggled, pushing him down and dropping her palms on his chest as she sat on him.
Clyde’s heart raced.
Did she realize what she was doing?
“Violet, stop it.” He breathed out heavily.
Whether intentionally or not, she rubbed herself against him, making him lose his mind. “Hey, Violet-”
“Shhhh!” She placed a finger on his lips, shutting him up. “I want to stare at my hubby all night. Hubby, can I also have a taste?”
“O- Of what?”
Clyde never thought he would stammer in any situation.
But he had to end this.
Otherwise, he'd do something they'd both regret in the morning.
He couldn't handle a drunk Violet. She'd never been drunk in his presence before.
“This!” She touched his lips, her eyes filled with curiosity. “I wanna feel what it tastes like.”
Her words alone were enough to send his mind into a mess.
Clyde held her waist to stop her constant movements.
Well, he didn't force her to do anything. She was the one who asked for the no-intimacy rule, and now she was breaking it.
“It must taste as sweet as the wine.” She leaked her lips, leaning forward.
Clyde had to admit that he loved this brazen side of her.
It was probably the only best thing he loved about her transformation.
Their lips almost touched when she belched twice. And then she threw up all the contents in her stomach on his shirt.
Clyde shuddered.
For a few seconds, he didn't recover from the shock.
That wasn't enough. She landed on his body, smudging the liquid all over him.
Clyde’s eyes darkened immediately, scrunching up his nose as the deep stench engulfed the atmosphere.
Damnit!
Cursing under his breath, he tried hard to ignore the tingling sensation on his skin.
Seriously, she'd be the end of him.
Clyde waited a few seconds for her to calm down, their heartbeats in sync as her chest was pressed against his.
“Violet.” He called out three times.
However, she didn't budge as if she was deeply asleep.
Clyde rolled her over, her vomit staining his shirt more.
Ignoring the cringe feeling, he took off her clothes, stripping her naked.
“W- What are you doing?” Her eyes rolled in their sockets and she held her forehead as if returning to her senses.
Clyde stripped himself out of his clothes as well and picked her up. “Giving you a bath.”
