Chapter 77 Return To Her Peaceful Life

Cora brought her baby some gifts.

Folding her hands, Violet chortled.

What trick was she up to this time?

“Let me have a look,” She ordered the maid who followed her inside with the gift boxes.

Violet opened them one after the other. There were a bunch of clothes inside one box, and the second box contained school materials.

And then the third box contained all sorts of toys.

“Wow, Ma’am Cora surely knows what the Little Young Miss needs!” The maid said in excitement. “I bet she loves her very much.”

Love?

Violet almost scoffed.

She couldn't tell what Cora was up to this time, but she couldn't allow any shit to happen.

“Dispose of them.” She pushed the gifts aside and ordered the maid, “Do that before Mimi sees them.”

Because it would be hard to throw them away then as her baby might get tempted by the toys.

“B- But, Young Miss-” The maid looked confused, stuttering as she packed the gifts together hesitantly. “What if it hurts Ma’am Cora's feelings? She's still here and she might catch me.”

Oh, so Cora came to deliver the gifts by herself.

Why hadn't the maid told her that earlier?

“Where's Cora?” She frowned.

Violet had this unsettling feeling instantly, knowing that vile woman was still in the mansion.

“She has gone to the Master and Madam's headquarters to see the Little Young Miss-”

Damnit!

Violet didn't wait for her to finish speaking.

She sprang up and rushed outside, heading straight to the adjacent building.

The last place she'd like to visit was Clyde's parents' quarters.

She wouldn't even show up there even if Becca insisted Mimi stayed with her the whole day.

However, having her baby and that vile girl in the same place.

Violet wasn't sure what tricks Cora would decide to play this time.

Well, she was still on her way when she saw Cora's figure coming out.

Still, Violet had to check on her baby. So, she continued walking until a strange sound caught her ears.

Violet had to pause, finding it bizarre.

The weirdest thing was that she didn't see Cora's figure anymore,

Until she glanced sideways.

Behind the stone pillars, in a hidden corner of the place, Cora stood with a man.

Not just any man, but the same man whom Violet had just run from.

What was Clyde doing in this secret place with Cora?

The man's back was to her, but he wore the same white shirt and grey trousers.

Frowning, Violet watched them despite her mind screaming to leave this place.

Yet, she was too stubborn to move. Too foolish to see the potential heartbreak coming.

“Hey, stop it!” Cora protested.

The man was literally fumbling with her clothes, holding her against the wall.

Then he buried his face in her nape, kissing that spot hungrily.

Violet could imagine Clyde doing the same thing to her just a while ago.

She couldn't believe her eyes or control the rapid beating of her heart at the moment.

“Hey, the servants might see us…” Cora warned, but the man wasn't listening.

Instead, he caught her lips in his, kissing her senseless.

“Did you plan to just come and leave without coming to see me?” He murmured in his deep voice. “Aren't you naughty?”

“But, oh… nobody must know about our relationship.” Cora's moan echoed in the place. “You know the disadvantage-”

“The only disadvantage is my family finding out.” He groaned and lifted her dress. “I promise you it won't happen.”

And they continued making out, their soft moans becoming rapid.

Violet glanced away and a tear dropped from her eyes.

Damn!

Why was she crying?

It wasn't like this was a new thing. It wasn't like she didn't know about his secret relationship with Cora.

But,

Wasn't he the same man who denied having cheated on her?

Wasn't he the same person who had just promised that he'd make her the happiest woman?

Violet swallowed, pushing her emotions down.

She flicked off her tears and walked away, shutting down those noises.

It wasn't like she cared, did she?

Staying here was only an agreement with Clyde which would soon end.

She wasn't supposed to be fazed.

She wasn't supposed to feel intimidated because a month would soon come and pass and she would return to her peaceful life.

Clyde could keep on having a relationship with Cora for all she cared.

The only thing Violet hated was her vulnerabilities in his presence.

But that had to end. She must put a stop to it.

She arrived inside the building, stepping into the living room where she found Mimi sitting on a couch with a huge phone tablet in her hands.

Violet pulled herself together.

Plastering on a sweet smile, she approached the girl. “Hi, Baby.”

“Mummy!” Mimi's eyes lit up. She threw the tablet away and jumped on her. “I missed you so much, Mummy. You were too busy yesterday and didn't wake up early today until Grandma took me away. See what Grandma gave me. She says I can watch cartoons in it and also play games.”

Violet glanced at the huge tablet.

Thank goodness it wasn't one of Cora's gifts.

“Uhm, Mummy…” Mimi went on, her happy expression turning to a sad look. “Remember you said not to be friends with Aunt Cora anymore. She brought me that, but I told her I couldn't take it because we're no longer friends. Aunt Cora left it anyway. She said I might like it later.”

Mimi pointed to a mini red car sitting in a corner.

It must be the toy car the maid told her about.

For a toy car, it looked so flashy and super expensive.

The sight of it brought back her anger, and the image of Cora making out with Clyde flashed in her mind.

“You don't need it, Baby…”

Violet was about to say the same thing, but Clyde beat her to eat.

The man appeared suddenly, having on an irritated look as he glanced at the car. “I'll buy you a new and better one.”
