Chapter 99 End Her Marriage

Oh, goodness! No!

As if her heart would fly out of her chest, it raced like a train on a railway.

Violet gasped as she came face to face with the man, the desire in his eyes sending a turmoil of emotions building up inside her.

“You shouldn't have done that,” He grunted as if struggling to control himself. “You shouldn't have kissed me in the study room. Do you know how much I've been holding back these past few days?”

Clyde picked her up and placed her on the bed, his movement so rapid that she didn't see it coming.

Oh, no!

Did she poke the beast without knowing?

Violet had acted out of instinct.

If she knew a mere kissing would lead to this, she would have thought twice and suppressed her emotions.

Because,

Even she wasn't herself right now.

Yes, she shouldn't have done that.

As Clyde hovered above her, fiddling with her blouse's buttons, she breathed heavily letting her arms fall to the side.

Like two desperate teenagers exploring each other for the first time, she could think of nothing else apart from his lips touching hers.

It turned out that she hadn't been the only person struggling with her desires these past few days.

Clyde wanted her the way she wanted him. They both wanted each other.

Letting go of all rational thoughts, Violet followed his movements by unbuttoning his shirt’s button as well.

She leaned up to kiss his nape and a painful groan tore from his lips.

Clyde was almost done unbuttoning her blouse when a loud voice came from outside the door.

“Where have you run off to, Mummy! Ava, have you seen my Mummy!?”

Mimi's voice was loud enough to be heard from downstairs.

Violet gasped and quickly stopped her movements, and the man hovering above her let out a loud curse.

Without a second thought, she pushed him off her and rearranged her blouse.

Damn!

Was Mimi's appearance a blessing or a curse?

Maybe she should be grateful that her daughter had come just in time to save her from committing a mistake that she was probably going to regret forever.

She left Clyde sitting on the bed with a helpless look on his face.

Violet rushed out and found Mimi in the hallway, about to head back to her room.

“Where have you been, Mummy? You promised to help me prepare gifts for Matt.” Her tiny brows furrowed and she glanced past her to the Master bedroom door. “Oh, you just came out of Daddy's room. Is Daddy inside?”

The little girl's eyes lit up.

Violet didn't know why, but her daughter suddenly looked unusually happy.

In reply to her question, she nodded, “Yes, he's inside. But your Daddy is busy, he doesn't wanna be disturbed, okay?”

“Oh, I understand!” Mimi bobbed her head as if she truly understood. “It's great that you're finally in Daddy's room. I'll follow Ava's advice and leave you guys alone.”

Now Violet was the one confused.

Ava?

What did the maid put into her baby's head again?

But even before she asked, Mimi spilled the beans, hugging her teddy bear with a happy smile.

“Ava told me that as long as you're in Daddy's room, my baby brother is just around the corner. Don't sleep in the guest room anymore, okay, Mummy?”

Violet groaned inside.

Honestly, she shouldn't be surprised by this.

However, it was high time she scolded the maid. Wasn't she putting too many false expectations in the little girl's mind?

Besides, Mimi was too young for these kinds of topics even if they sounded innocent now.

“I bet Daddy's waiting for you. I'll be off to my room, Mummy!” Mimi kissed her on the cheek and then skittered away.

Violet didn't waste time.

She began searching for the maid immediately, quickening her footsteps before Clyde caught her unaware again.

Ava wasn't inside the kitchen. She wasn't in the backyard either.

Violet left the building to head to the servant’s quarters, but the sounds of voices caught her ears.

“You can come as well and be Clyde's chauffeur. I don't mind tagging along.”

“I shouldn't be in that kind of place, Freya.”

“Don't worry. If you're worried about Clyde stopping you, I'll speak with Violet. She'll make him give you the car keys.”

“You really want to go to the gala, huh?”

“It's one of the rare chances to make connections. Besides, it has been long since I last mingled with bigwigs.”

To avoid bumping into her best friend and her lover, Violet took a different route.

Did Harry tell her about the gala?

Even she wasn't willing to attend but Freya sounded eager.

Urgh! Hopefully, the girl wouldn't try to force her to come along.

A few more steps and Violet would be at the servants’ quarters. However, the large gates of the Villa opening caught her attention.

She paused in her tracks, wondering who was inside the flashy car.

It definitely shouldn't be guests as they rarely had any even in the past.

Then, who could it be?

Her thoughts froze and her blood ran cold immediately when the car came to a stop and the person stepped out- no, two people.

Violet wasn't scared of Cora's presence, but she found herself unable to stand Clyde's mother's presence.

What was Becca doing here?

She thought she'd had enough of the woman.

She thought she was never gonna see her again.

“What are you doing standing there as if you're dumb!?” The woman shouted from where she stood, giving her a furious look. “Don't you know how to greet your mother-in-law?”

Violet sighed inside.

‘Well, here it goes again.’

As long as she lived, Becca might probably never change her habits.

She wasn't a fool to go near the woman. Instead, she turned back to the house, ignoring the duo.

“Hey, you come back! If you take another step, your marriage with my son will end today,” Becca shouted from behind, her words catching even the servants’ attention.
