I Married My Ex-fiance’s Father
Chapter 57.
Chapter 57
At the dining table that morning, Blair kept staring at me with a smirk.
She appears to know what I am up to.
Or has the maid informed her about it?
She did that.
And I swear, that girl will taste the bitter part of me today.
She will die a terrible death,
And in her next life, she will never betray me again.
“Dad, what are those idiots saying about the kidnapping? Who must have paid them to do it?”
I glanced at Harris who had just asked the question.
“They are not saying anything for now, but they will soon confess.”
Pfft.
They won't do that,
They don't even know who the mastermind is behind it.
A friend of mine was the one who hired someone to hire those thugs, and I am confident that even they have no idea who the friend of my friend is.
Let's see how they will confess it.
“Do you think the culprit will be caught? I bet they don't even know who gave them the task, baby.”
Mtsss.
“I think so too, but let's wait for a while, maybe they will mention the name of one person they know.”
Harris?
Sighs.
No problem,
I will deal with him too.
“Jessy?”
Frederick called,
“You haven't said anything yet.”
What does he want me to say?
This man has no shame.
Well,
Let's wait till I snatch him away from Blair.
I will make sure he hands over everything in his name to me, and then go my way.
“I have nothing to say.”
I got up and left the dining area.
I could tell the pressure of their gazes on my back as I walked away.
~BLAIR~
Yesterday when the maid brought me the avocado smoothie I ordered her to make for me, I realized she was acting so weird.
Unlike the other times when she would be smiling with me, she wasn't.
Her eyes were swollen and they looked red as if she had cried.
And when I asked her what was wrong, she didn't want to say anything until I threatened to inform Frederick before she told me.
Jessy doesn't know that all her evil plans can never get me now.
Does she think she is the wisest?
Seriously, she is only wasting her time.
As soon as Frederick left the house, I called Harris to my room to have a word with him.
This time, I am one hundred percent sure that he will do what I ask of him.
“Do you still want the oil company?”
His eyes brightened up, and he nodded his head.
“Of course, Blair, you know how much I really want it.”
Good.
“I will hand it over to you, and any other you want from me.”
“Really? OMG! What a dream come true. Thank you so much, Blair.”
He said happily.
“But you didn't ask me what you will do in return.”
He chuckled softly.
“Just say it, okay? I will do whatever you want, Blair. There is nothing on my mind now except that company.”
Wonderful.
But to be sure he wouldn't ditch me like the last time, I added.
“This time, I won't hand over the company to you until you do as I say.”
“Just name it, Blair.”
I picked up a piece of paper from the bed and gave it to him.
“That is a divorce paper, sign it.”
Without hesitating, he signed it.
“What next?”
He asked, giving it back.
“The next thing is for you to have Jessy sign it.”
He raised a brow in confusion.
“Do you mean I should divorce her?”
I bobbed my head, smiling.
“Yes. That is the only way I can hand over the company to you. But if you refused, then goodbye.”
He snatched the paper from my hand.
“Jessy will sign it.”
Wonderful!
“And do not think you can change that paper, I had it made directly from the court because I don't trust you.”
He sighed deeply.
“Do not worry, Blair, Jessy will cease being my wife from now on.”
I wanted to follow him out of the room, to see how she would react to it, but I got a call from Frederick and had to answer it.
“Can you come over to the headquarters now? There is something you need to hear.”
Uhn?
What could that be?
Seriously, I don't want to see those people,
“Is it necessary?”
I asked him,
“Yes, please come quickly.”
He ended the call, and I sighed deeply, got up from the bed, and then went inside the bathroom.
I had a shower, changed into another dress and as I stepped out of the room, I heard Jessy and Harris’s voices arguing.
My lips curved into a smile and I strolled away.
When I return later, I hope I don't see Jessy in this house anymore.
Sighs.
This is finally happening.
If Harris doesn't do that, then it means he is in love with her for real.
When I arrived at the headquarters, Fredeick was waiting for me outside.
So he took me inside the interrogation room where the thugs were being interrogated.
“Repeat what you'd said earlier.”
The officer said as soon as I sat down.
The thugs exchanged glances and lowered their heads.
“Blair was the one who paid us to kidnap her.”
Uhn?
What nonsense are they talking about?
I couldn't help but burst into laughter.
“And she was the one who told us she wanted to leave, that was why she wasn't injured when she returned.”
Hhahahahahaha.
Is this what they think will free them from here?
“So do you believe them?”
I asked Frederick, and he scoffed.
“Of course not. Why would I?”
Good.
“You guys are fools, seriously. You have no idea how to lie to someone. How can she hire you guys to kidnap her? For what reason?
Her company had just gone into turmoil. Why would she do that?”
The officer shook his head.
“Return these idiots to the prison, and keep torturing them until they confess.”
Tsk tsk tsk
Ahh!
