Chapter 26

Marcus kept asking Assistant Mike to tell him what was going on but he refused. Marcus was scared that he might have provoked Sterling with the message he sent to him last night.

But he didn’t say anything that would make him angry. Maybe he was disturbing him and Sterling want to warn him.

His mind wasn’t at rest and when the car drove in to the company, he heart dropped.

“This is the end of me.” he sighed inside. Assistant Mike heard him and he chuckled. The end of him or the beginning of him? If only he knew what was waiting for him in the office, he would have ran there by himself.

“Mr. Hawthorn, he is here.” Assistant Mike announced.

Sterling gestured to Assistant Li who was standing beside him and he put the contract document on the desk. Then he signaled to Assistant Mike to bring Marcus close.

“I’ll never send anything like that to you again, Mr. Hawthorn. Please forgive me this one last time.” he pleaded.

But assistant Mike and Li dragged him to the desk and made him sign the document.

Marcus released himself on the floor. He thought Sterling was going to send him to court not knowing he made him signed that that way so that he wouldn’t turn down the offer.

( You shouldn’t have forced me)

After he was forced sign-in the contract, Sterling signaled to Assistant Mike to make Marcus sit on the chair and they forced him on to the chair again.

“Mr. Hawthorn, please forgive me. I promise never to send you any messages regarding Vivienne again.” He pleaded, with his palms rubbing against each other.

Sterling raised a brow, wondering what message he was talking about.

He didn’t even know Marcus sent him a message because he hasn’t check his email.

“What message are you talking about, Mr. Marcus?” Assistant Mike asked him.

When he saw the look on Sterling’s face, Marcus discovered he too didn’t know the message he was talking about.

None of them has seen the message which was such a relief to him.

But what document did they force him to sign? He tried to look at the document on the table but it was already turned upside down.

He couldn’t see anything that was written on it and he wished he could see that.

Seeing how he was looking at the document on the table, Sterling leaned forward. He dropped his elbows on the desk and supported his child with his hands.

He then signaled to Assistant Li who was standing beside Marcus to explain things to him.

“Mr. Marcus, this document you just signed?” Marcus turned his face to Assistant Mike.

“Yes?” he answered. Thanking God that they finally wanted to talk to him about the document.

That was the only thing he wanted to hear at that moment.

Whatever that document was, he hoped it wasn’t the one that would land him in trouble.

“That’s a contract document.” Assistant Li announced.

A contract document? Why? He didn’t remember looking for a job in that company.

Not that he wouldn’t. But he didn’t know if he was going to be employed or not.

Besides, he only majored in Entertainment and there wasn’t any department like that in that company.

“A contract document about what, Assistant Li? If I may ask.” He glanced at Sterling and then Assistant Li.

“Earlier on, Mr. Hawthorn had an urgent and very important meeting with the shareholders of this company...” he went on.

But that wasn’t what he wanted to hear. He just wanted Assistant Li to go straight to the point instead of beating around the bush.

Shouldn’t he just say this is why they forced him in signing the document? Or this is what the wanted from him?

“In that meeting, Mr. Hawthorn introduced a new department to the company,”

Marcus scoffed inside. How was that his business? Mr. Hawthorn can introduce any department in his company as much as he want.

“An Entertainment department just for Vivienne Montague,”

Marcus sighed inside. That wasn’t his problem. He just want Mr. Hawthorn to consider going back to Pure Heart Entertainment.

But wait… Did he heard what Assistant Li said or his ears were playing with him?

Marcus cleared his ears before turning to Assistant Li with a question look.

“I’m sorry. But can you repeat what you just said now? I didn’t get that,” he said.

Assistant Li put on a broad smile, glanced at Assistant Mike then at Marcus who was still looking at him.

“Your ears grabbed that correctly, Mr. Marcus. Mr. Hawthorn right here introduced another department. An entertainment department and you are the head of the department.” He picked up the document from the desk.

“The document we made you signed…” He handed it over to Marcus.

Marcus turned the document over and saw the name of the department written boldly on it.

HER MAJESTY, that was the name of the department.

Sterling thought it was the suitable name he could think of for Vivienne the goddess of all actresses.

Maybe there was other names but that was the one he could come up with after thinking about it thoroughly.

“M…M…Mr. Haw…Mr. Hawthorn?” Marcus stammered, looking at his hands which were trembling.

He didn’t know when he fell on his knees and started crying out of excitement.

“Thank you so much Mr. Hawthorn. Indeed you are God sent. Who would do this for us if not you? Absolutely none. Thank you Mr. Hawthorn, we will forever be indebted to you,” Marcus cried out.

He didn’t know what next to do. Was it to roll on the floor for Sterling? Or to run around the company shouting Sterling’s name? Or was he going to start worshiping Sterling from that moment?

“You can leave now, Mr. Marcus, go pass the good news to Vivienne Montague.” Assistant Li said to him.

Marcus wiped the tears on his face and sniffled. He picked up the document which was on the floor, kissed it and staggered out of the office.

In his mind, Sterling sighed of relief. That was already taken care of and next was to see Vivienne Montague.

He knew things would change in his company and bringing Vivienne to his side meant a lot to his business.

Other people would want to partner with him because of her fame when she returned.

And half of the citizens of that city if not all were going to praise him for what he did.

“Mr. Hawthorn, how about we put out job vacancy for the department staffs? You know Vivienne would need a new manager now that Mr. Marcus is now the department head and he wouldn’t…”

Sterling already had that in mind too and the person that can do that job perfectly, he has already chosen.

“I’ve already chosen the person, don’t worry.” He waved them out of his office after giving them the go ahead to put out job Vacancies.

“I’m going to deal with you, Sebastian.” Sterling let out a mischievous grin and compressed his eyes.

---

Because he didn’t went to the company with his car, Marcus found it slow in getting to Vivienne’s place.

He didn’t know if she was at home or not as he stood there for more than ten minutes knocking on the door.

Unknown to him, Vivienne was inside the room with headphones on going through her rehearsals.

She didn’t know that good news was awaiting her outside the house.

Marcus didn’t have his phone with him of not, he would have gave her a call.

“Oh great, I’m done,” Vivienne sighed. She removed the headphones from her ears and dropped it on the table.

That was when she heard the knock coming from the door.

“Who is that? Is that Marcus?” She stood up to go check who that was.

And to her surprise, it was Marcus. But what surprised her the most was the way he got himself in to the house as soon as she opened the door.

“What’s wrong with you, Marcus? Shouldn’t you have,” he interrupted her scolding.

“I should be the one scolding you, Vivienne. But because I’m in a good mood today, I don’t want to scold you.” He winked at her.

Vivienne raised a brow. Good mood? She wondered what good mood Marcus was in that he wouldn’t scold her for opening the door late.

“What’s that?” she asked, sitting beside him on the sofa.

“Vivienne, you aren’t going to believe this. But first of all, call me your God father from now on.” He lifted up his shoulders.

( Call me your Godfather)

Vivienne laughed. Marcus was used to teasing her but ye sounded so serious.

“Can you guess what this is?” He showed her the document in his hand.

Vivienne tried to take the document from him but he didn’t give it to her.

“How am I supposed to know what that is if I don’t look at it?” she asked him.

“Then I’m going to tell you.” He adjusted his sitting and cleared his throat.

“Vivienne dear, you know I promised I’m going to do whatever it would take to get you back in to the industry?” she nodded her head.

“Good. I just got you something more superior than going back to Pure Heart Entertainment.” He chuckled happily.

Superior than Pure Heart Entertainment? She didn’t know what that was.

But as far as she knew, there was no company in the entertainment industry more superior than Pure Heart Entertainment.

Others were just developing and Pure Heart Entertainment already developed.

“I’m dying to hear what that is, Marcus. Just spill it out.” He finally released the document to her and she started going through it.

“Wow!” Vivienne exclaimed.

“You got yourself a job in another Entertainment industry? That’s great. Congratulations Marcus, I’m so happy for you.” She swept her hair to one side.

“This department is a new one and don’t be surprised when I say it was created just for you,”

Vivienne scoffed. A department just for her? He was kidding.

Who would even do that for her? No one.

“Vivienne, listen to me. You know Mr. Sterling Hawthorn, right?” she nodded her head.

She has always heard about him when she was still in the industry.

“He is the one that created the department in his company just for you, Vivienne,” Marcus laughed.

Vivienne nearly scream out of excitement but she still didn’t believe that would happen.

How? Why? And when did the whole Hawthorn know her?

“Vivienne, you don’t know this but I have to tell you. You know I haven’t been here to give you feedback about the vote, right?” she nodded her head.

“That’s because no one voted for you.” Her breath dropped.

No one voted for her? That was impossible. Everyone in the industry liked her so much when she was still with them.

Was it Sabrina that stopped them from voting for her or what? She was confused.

“Why didn’t they vote for me? I thought I was going to win that vote when you informed me about it,”

Marcus nodded his head. He too though she was going to win the vote not until things turned upside down.

“Do not blame anyone but your stupid ex husband. Sebastian was the one that told them not to vote for you,” Vivienne frowned.

When did Sebastian start partnering with that industry? She didn’t know. She only knew he has always wanted to he part of them.

“That old hag.” She clenched her fist.

“You can say that again, girl. You can’t believe Mr. Hawthorn went to the business Men’s company one after the other and even gave them a place in his company just so they can vote for you, but Sebastian brainwashed them all.”

“What da! Working with Mr. Hawthorn is what everyone wished. Why did they do that? Sebastian isn’t rich. He’s where he is right now because of my connection,” Vivienne gasped.
