Chapter 34

Marcus was having a conversation with Assistant Li when she went down the stairs.

As soon as Assistant Li saw her, he made his way out of the apartment ignoring her.

Vivienne was surprised by his action. That was what he has been doing since the morning.

She sent Lia to call Assistant Li for her but he told her he was busy.

And when she went by herself to speak to him, he told her he wasn’t ready to talk at that moment.

Vivienne was surprised by his action. Wasn’t he happy to be working with her? If he isn’t, then he should inform Sterling about it.

“Look who’s here,” she giggled.

“Hi Vivienne.” Marcus waved his fingers with a blank face.

“Hi, how’s work?” she sat on the sofa opposite his.

“Not good, Vivienne and it’s all thanks to you,” he blurted.

Vivienne sneered. All thanks to her? What on earth does he mean by that?

“No, shouldn’t you be thanking me that you got to become the HOD of the department because of me?” She pointed to her chest.

Marcus scoffed. Yes, he did thanked her before but not anymore.

Things weren’t just going the way he wanted.

“Before I say anything about that, look at you Vivienne.”

Vivienne looked at herself wondering what he saw in her body.

“This is your fist day in this house but you’ve already transformed in to something else. You now have servants doing your work and also a new manager. Mr. Hawthorn indeed is ready to take care of you,”

Vivienne giggled. That was right. Mr. Hawthorn wouldn’t let her be the way she was before. She was his responsibility now and deserves to be taken care of.

“You can say that again, Marcus. I love being here already. I also have my personal cosmetologist. That lady you sent to call me, she’s the one.”

Marcus’s eyes enlarged. That was more than he imagined.

“And she’s a professional?” she nodded her head.

“Wow! That’s good,” he sighed inside.

Jealousy was creeping in to his mind already. He wished he was the one receiving all the treatment not Vivienne.

“So, what brought you here, Marcus? What did you say I did to you?” She crossed her leg.

“Well…” Marcus adjusted his sitting.

“Can you believe Mr. Hawthorn hired two scriptwriters for the department already?”

Vivienne smiled. That was so fast and so good. She didn’t expect things to go that fast.

“And why are you sad about it? Mr. Hawthorn is doing the right thing.” she shrugged her shoulders.

“That’s not it, Vivienne. I am the head of that department and the person responsible to decide anything there. Shouldn’t he at least confronted me first before hiring them?” Vivienne nodded her head.

“But he didn’t. Instead, he gave the task to his Assistant,” he sighed.

Vivienne understood why he was sad about it. But that wasn’t a big deal. He should be happy that the task wasn’t burdened on him.

“Don’t you think Mr. Hawthorn is trying to relieve you of some burdens?”

“Excuse me?” Marcus wasn’t pleased with that.

“I mean, you should be happy that he took care of that by himself. He want you to focus on other things that’s why he did that. And don’t forget that company belongs to him, he can do whatever he want with it.” She reminded him.

“Stop thinking that way, Vivienne. You are taking his side instead of mine.”

“Look Marcus, I know how you feel. But you shouldn’t worry yourself with things like this.” Vivienne tried to make him understand but he wouldn’t even listen to her.

“I’ve already promised three people that position in the department. And guess what, they have start working on the first movie we want to produce.”

Vivienne shook her head. That was indeed heartbroken.

“Did you confront Mr. Hawthorn before you decided on that?” she asked him.

“I don’t need to inform him, I am the head of that department and have the right to do things without informing him,”

Vivienne nodded her head. That explained it all. Marcus was the one with problem.

How could he say he can do whatever he likes with the department without letting the owner of the company decide on it?

That’s pure nonsense and it would be better if he would stop thinking about that.

“Then you should tell them Mr. Hawthorn has already hired two professionals to do it.” She suggested.

“I won’t do that, Vivienne. This two are going to leave that department very soon and I’ll replace them with my men,”

Vivienne shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t even ask him how he was going to do that.

That wasn’t even necessary. He shouldn’t just try anything that would make Mr. Hawthorn be mad at him.

“Do you need anything? I’ll ask the girls to bring you one.” she asked him.

But Marcus wasn’t in need of anything other than her support.

“The only thing I need from you right now is to talk to Mr. Hawthorn about this. Tell him you don’t want those men as your scriptwriters,”

Vivienne chuckled. How was that even possible? Even though the department was created because of her, that doesn’t mean she has full right over what should be done there.

“I can’t do that, I’m sorry. I don’t want to be selfish in this please.” She apologized to him.

Marcus was disappointed in her but he didn’t show it to her.

“If that’s the case then, let’s do as he wants.” Marcus stood up from the sofa with smiles on his face.

“Are you leaving already?” she asked him and he nodded his head to her.

“Okay then, farewell. I’m sorry Marcus for disappointing you.”

“That’s fine. What you said is true, you shouldn’t be selfish with your opportunity,” he smiled at her.

Marcus left burning in rage. He was so disappointed in Vivienne but no problem, he know what to do.

( A surprise visit)

Two days later, Mr. Kenneth and Mr. Cole visited Sterling’s office to deliver the script they came up with.

Sterling and Assistant Mike went through it and it was just the perfect thing he wanted.

“This is definitely going to be the best movie ever. I didn’t know you could come up with something as beautiful as this.”

Assistant Mike complimented as he continued checking page by page.

What Hawthorn was after was only Vivienne’s line. They were all so perfect and he knew she was going to act them well as that would be so simple for her.

“Thank you, Assistant Mike.” Mr. Kenneth chuckled.

They deserved that compliment because of the time spent in bringing an idea and also working on the script.

But even though Sterling told them not to bring any cliché, they did brought something in it.

That movie wouldn’t be complete without adding her old scenes in to it.

But the way they wrote with, Sterling didn’t recognize it nor Assistant Mike.

“But Mr. Hawthorn, we are still requesting for you to allow us change her role. That is going to make this story flow nicely.” Mr. Cole requested again.

Sterling didn’t like that they were still talking about what he already told them he wouldn’t do.

Shouldn’t they just do as he wanted and allow things to be?

The audience should be the ones to decide that not them.

“Uhm Mr. Kenneth and Cole, I think we are done talking about this. We all know Vivienne can’t act that role you are suggesting, this is the perfect one for her. Let’s not talk about this again.” Sterling spoke.

Since Sterling was insisting they leave it that way, they decided to let that matter rest.

No doubt, Vivienne would act that well. But they only wanted to bring something new in to her character.

“Make copies of this and transfer them to the Majesty’s department. Bring a copy for me to take to Vivienne,” Sterling ordered Assistant Mike.

“Yes, Mr. Hawthorn. I’ll do as you said.” Assistant Mike and the men left the office both at the same time.

“Change her character?” Sterling scoffed.

Vivienne wouldn’t even like that. It’s better they stick to the ones she was been used to.

After Assistant Mike made a copy of all the papers, he took them to the department to hand them over to Marcus.

“These are for the other actors and actresses. Make sure you keep an eye on them, Mr. Marcus. We want you to bring the best out of them.” Assistant Mike instructed.

Marcus counted all the documents but they were ten in number instead of Eleven.

“Why is there one missing?” he asked Assistant Mike.

“Oh that. Mr. Hawthorn wants to take Vivienne’s to her by himself.” Assistant Mike smiled.

Marcus frowned his brows. That was his job to do but Sterling was getting in his way again.

“But shouldn’t I be the one to hand it over to her?” he asked Assistant Mike who was about to leave.

Assistant Mike sighed before turning around.

“Yes, but the Boss wants to do that by himself. Got any problem with that?” he asked him.

“No, nothing.” Marcus counted the documents again and picked out one.

“This is totally nonsense.” He slapped the document on the desk.

“Is this what those two idiots wrote? I thought Mike says they are professional?” he shook his head.

According to him, even he can write that. Nothing suits him because it wasn’t the way he wanted it to be written.

“Let’s see how this is going to turn out. I know at the end, my idea will be taken in to consideration.”

He left his office with the documents to the next office where all the actors were and distributed the documents to them each.

“Go through the story well.” He instructed.

“What about our lines? We don’t know our names yet.” One of the girls asked.

“It’s written in there. Just go through it and be sure you memorize all the lines.”

“And again.” Marcus paused.

“None of you should snap and post this on the media. I know what kids like you can do,” they nodded their heads.

“If this story or the movie get out before it’s been released, then consider all of your fired,” he threatened.

They weren’t fools to lose their jobs when that was the first movie they would all be appearing in.

“We won’t do that, Mr. Marcus, trust us.” One of them assured him.

Marcus left that office feeling so angry that he wasn’t the one to take the document to Vivienne. Things weren’t going the way he thought they would and he wasn’t happy about that.

At Vivienne’s, Sterling went there with Assistant Mike and his guards.

Vivienne was on the balcony when the cars drove insisted the house.

She was surprised that Sterling would visit her soon without even giving her a heads-up.

But what was she thinking, that was his house and he can go there whenever he want.

She quickly went back in to the room before he would see her to look at herself in the mirror.

But nothing was wrong with her outfit or her make-up.

It was already taken care of by Lia hours ago.

As Vivienne was going out of the room, she wondered how stupid she was to even think of checking herself out in the mirror.

Sterling wasn’t her boyfriend, he was her Boss.

“Well, I have to look presentable as an actress,” she chuckled.

As soon as she stepped down the stairs, Sterling also walked in to the apartment.

She put on a broad smile, welcoming him in to the living room.

“Mr. Hawthorn, I didn’t know you would be coming over.” She offered him a place to sit still with smiles on her face.

“Good day, Ms. Vivienne.” Assistant Mike bowed in respect and Vivienne also bowed to him a little.

“And good day to you too, Assistant Mike.” She then diverted her attention to Sterling who was now sitting on a sofa.
