Chapter 44

“Shouldn’t I stick with Mr. Fowler? It sounds disrespectful to calm you Fowler.” she said.

Fowler chuckled. If only she knew what he has for her in his heart.

“Don’t worry about that, just call me Fowler because that will make me happy.” He winked at her.

“Oh come on. Aren’t you the cutest guy I’ve ever seen?” she laughed shortly.

“Okay then. You can call me Vivienne too. We are already friends so…” He interrupted her.

“Just friends?” Vivienne raised a brow.

“Colleagues.” she added. “Now you are talking.” He walked away from her and sat down on the sofa in front of the window.

“Now that the false rumors has been taken care of by Mr. Hawthorn, can you tell me why you were sitting like that yesterday?”

Vivienne sighed inside. That was the scene she never wanted to remember or to talk about again.

“I kept messing things up yesterday. I was so stressed and sat that way. I don’t know who took that picture of me,”

Fowler nodded his head. He understood that person was waiting for Vivienne to show any sign of stress or worriedness for that person to take her picture.

And he or she succeeded. But what confused him was who could have done that.

“The person that did it was there with you guys,” Fowler said.

Vivienne agreed with him. But who was that? She didn’t know.

“This is entertainment industry for you, dear. You just have to be careful next time.” he advised.

Whatever they do in the entertainment industry, there are some people close to them that would make a scene about that.

Even if they breath abnormally, then the next day, the news would be out that the actress or actor is sick.

Fowler has gone through that a lot back then when he started his acting career.

He was worried at first and once thought of ending his life. But as time goes on and he saw different false news about his Colleagues in the industry, he ignored the thought and moved on with his life.

Being worried about what people would say about you sometimes would only had to your pain.

And it would give them the impression they want to continue oppressing you.

Fowler learned the hard way but he was glad he did.

“You need to be strong, Vivienne. A lot of this would come your way now that you are back to the industry after a failed marriage. Just hope people doesn’t know about your marriage life,”

Vivienne smiled. She wouldn’t care if they know. No one would blame her. Sebastian would be the one they would all insult.

But because of her reputation and that of the company she’s now working for, she took Fowler’s words seriously.

And if she wants to be in the industry without having any problem, then she’ll have to divorce Sebastian before it got late.

Sebastian would be her problem which he already assured her.

Since he was also part of the industry now, Vivienne knew he would try to bring her down.

“Thank you, Fowler. I’ll take your advice seriously.” she smiled.

Back at his office, Sterling struggled to control his mind.

He didn’t want to think of Vivienne with Fowler but even though he tried to work on a paper to brush the thought aside, it wouldn’t just leave him.

Why did Fowler show up just because he saw the false news about Vivienne? Was there anything between them?

What was the secret those two were hiding? Sterling couldn’t come up with any answer.

Vivienne was a sweet girl that everyone would want to take care of. Could it be what Fowler was doing, taking care of her? Or he has another intention?

All those thoughts ran in his mind.

Sterling sighed. For him, there was no need being worried about Vivienne with Fowler.

She was just an actress in his company and his feeling for her was merely of a Boss and an employee.

He didn’t know why he felt so jealous about her when he already has another woman in his heart.

His mysterious woman that he hasn’t found. Sometimes, Sterling would think if confronting Sebastian about the woman would help in finding her.

But for him, there was no need doing that. Since wasn’t his wife again according to the information Assistant Mike got about her, he would surely find her someday.

Sterling checked the time and was surprised that it was already Noon.

Part of the day was used cleaning the mess that was done about Vivienne.

So for him, there was no need for her to act that day again.

So, he sent for Assistant Mike to meet him in his office.

“Mr. Hawthorn, you called.” Assistant Mike bowed his head. Sterling nodded his head.

“Tell Ms. Vivienne she can have the whole week off to get back her acting skills. And for the Majesty’s department, inform them of the changes.” He instructed.

But Assistant Mike was surprised that the whole scene of that week would be postponed.

“Mr. Hawthorn, sorry to intrude. But shouldn’t Ms. Vivienne take a day off or two? There are lot of scenes left to round up the movie. Don’t you think the other actors won’t be happy about that?”

“Take a look at Mr. Fowler, he already has movies to do including ours. Don’t you think he’ll get upset and leave?” Assistant Mike was worried.

If he could leave, Sterling would be glad. After all, there would be no one to always be with Vivienne if not him.

However, having Fowler in the movie too was a good thing.

“Deliver the message.” Assistant Mike bowed his head and left the office.

Sterling pondered on what Assistant Mike said. But giving Vivienne time to reflect on herself would make her come back with full energy to act those scenes.

For him, they were the simplest scenes for her as she was already used to it.

But the only thing she could act correctly was her love scene with Fowler which left an unanswered question in Sterling’s mind.

Why could it be only the love scene that she would act perfectly? Why not the other ones?

( Mr. Hawthorn wants you to take the week off)

Assistant Mike knocked on Vivienne’s office door and stepped in.

He was surprised to see that Fowler was still there and now sitting on the desk facing Vivienne.

He furrowed his brows in to a frown and bowed to Vivienne.

No wonder his Boss wasn’t happy in his office. He saw Vivienne and Fowler together.

“Mr. Hawthorn wants you to take the week off.” He passed the message.

Vivienne and Fowler exchanged glances. Take the week off? Was Mr. Hawthorn angry with her?

“Why?” Fowler asked him. “Is it because of the scandal?” he asked again.

“Is Mr. Hawthorn in his office? I’ll go talk to him.” Vivienne suggested.

“He isn’t in his office, he’s having a meeting now and won’t be done soon.” Assistant Mike lied.

Vivienne wasn’t happy. She thought Sterling was angry with her.

“Are you sure he won’t come out now?” she asked Assistant Mike.

“Yes, Ms. Vivienne. I’m very sure.” he didn’t hesitate to answer her.

Vivienne sighed inside but smiled at him. That was fine, she could wait for him till he returns back from the meeting so she’ll talk to him.

With Assistant Mike gone, Fowler started talking to Vivienne again.

“Are you sure Mr. Hawthorn isn’t upset with me?” she Fowler, worriedly.

Fowler scoffed. Only a fool would be angry with her. What happened wasn’t her fault so, he wondered why Sterling want her to take the full week off.

“Do not think about that, he isn’t angry with you. He just want you to take the week off that’s all. You look so stressed, Vivienne. The one week break might work for you,” he smiled at her.

But Vivienne felt sad. Sad that they wouldn’t be acting for a while week because of her.

Others are going to be angry and they’ll blame her. If she hadn’t caused the news, they’ll have been done with that movie in that same week.

“Do you want to go home now? I think we won’t be able to see Mr. Hawthorn today,” Fowler asked her.

She wanted to wait for him but changed her mind since Fowler would also be leaving.

She’ll only be left alone in the office if Fowler left.

“Sure, let’s go.” She stood up from the chair.

“Do you care if I take you out?” he asked as they walked out of the office.

Vivienne didn’t think that was a good idea. What if people saw her outside and surrounded her?

“I think we should go another time. I have things to do at home today.” she said.

Fowler shrugged his shoulders. She’ll eventually go with him some other time.

Standing at the balcony of his office, Sterling saw Vivienne and Fowler came out from the building.

He frowned when he saw them together again. He thought Fowler was going to leave alone and Vivienne might want to come meet him and ask him why she should be taking a week off.

He bit his lower lip in anger before turning away. Fowler was getting in his way.

But wasn’t he the one that brought that? Fowler wouldn’t have even get to see Vivienne if he didn’t bring him in to the company to be the male lead of the movie.

“Mr. Hawthorn?” Assistant Mike interrupted his thoughts when he returned back to the office.

“I’ve informed Ms. Vivienne about that and the department too. Mr. Marcus already has sent messages to the other actors to take a week off too,”

Sterling nodded his head. That was a job well done.

“And about the person that took the picture of Ms. Vivienne and started the false news…” Sterling lifted up his head.

“Investigations is already ongoing. That person is going to be fished out soon enough,”

Sterling nodded his head again. It would be good if they find out who did that so the person would be taken care of so others would take lesson from it.

Tarnishing others image isn’t the right thing to do. What if that person takes his or her life, then you’ll be guilty and won’t have peace of mind for the rest of your life.

“Mr. Marcus also wants to have a one on one discussion with you, Mr. Hawthorn. But I told him I’ll create a time when you are free.”

“That’s good.” Sterling left his chair.

“Send Isabella a message to meet me at the king’s,” he ordered.

Isabella? Does he mean Vivienne? What would he be doing with Isabella in that kind of a place where only people with deep relationship go to?

He has seen his Boss staring at Vivienne affectionately and that came as a relief to him.

After all, Sterling wouldn’t send him to find that Vivienne who was nowhere to be seen.

“But Mr. Hawthorn, why Isabella? Should I get Ms. Vivienne instead?” he suggested.

“Isabella, Assistant Mike. I’m leaving.” He took his phone from the desk and left the office.

Assistant Mike shrugged his shoulders. He texted Isabella the message he was asked to deliver and left the office too.

When Isabella got that message, she was surprised that Sterling that pushed her out of the way that morning was requesting for her presence in the king’s.

Was he already regretting what he did to her and want to apologize? Maybe yes.

She chuckled loudly, bringing her friend’s attention to her.

“Sterling wants to see me now at the king’s. See you guys later.” She left them, smiling as she walked to her car.

When she arrived at the king’s, Sterling was already there and has ordered them food in their reservation.

“Come sit here.” He drew out a chair for her.

Isabella raised a brow. She was surprised that Sterling was treating her that way.
